geno's is garbage. go to jim's on south street.
also, you'll either love or hate old city depending on what you're looking for. mostly college/post-college age kids and the types of bars that appeal to that audience. there are, however, a couple really good beer bars in the area if you're more into that.
south street is super eclectic and has something for everyone from river to river (south street and the areas both north and south). i'd say just research the bars, restaurants and reviews and you'll find something you'll like. i'd recommend the german joint, brauhaus schmitz, but if you're looking for more of a party, might wanna head elsewhere. |

-Go to Genos Stakes get "american with"
-Run up the art museum steps, then take in the amazing view of the city.
-Depending on how much you like to party, check out old city, center city, and south street at night.
-talegate for the eagles
-you could check out Independence hall, the liberty bell etc if you want, I go every few years when someone wants to see all the historic land marks. - flyers4487
Don't go to Geno's. Please don't go to Geno's. Geno's and Pat's are the fast food of Philly steaks. There are so many other places than that trash and dirt filled intersection on Passyunk. |

if you're near city hall, i'd say pop into reading terminal market for lunch on saturday (or fri if you're here). any and every kind of food you could possibly want in there. dinic's roast pork was just voted the best sandwich in america. lines are long, but get there at off-peak times and enjoy heaven. |

That's where you go when you're young and drunk and ready to end the night and don't care what falls in your lap when you eat.

Sounds awesome! I get in on Saturday morning. Will definitely check this out. That German place that somebody (can't remember who) posted also looks great. |

Well, look, I wouldn't go there for either but if I was visiting I wouldn't want to drive to Delaware Ave. for a Roast Pork then to South Street to pick up Canolli.
Edit: Okay, it takes me an hour to drive to Philly, going to John's Roast Pork for either the Pork or Steak (and for the sake of every god that's ever strode the heavens get the provolone on the steak and not american cheese, add american to the provolone if you must) then driving to Terminis isn't that big of a deal. |

It depends what you are interested in. What is your age group (20's, 30's, etc.)?
Some of the neanderthals that frequent the HB boards may direct you to a nearby strip club or their favorite watering hole where the # of customers equals the # of teeth in the joint.
Let me know if you are above the fray, and I will PM you. For example, there is a military base right downtown in the business district, whereby many probably walk by without a clue. Tremendous history.
Or a recent museum established for the tribute of Lincoln.
Or wonderful restaurants or arts.
Much to see my friend. Much to see.
Cheers!
