The Islanders have stated they are going to go with their current logo.
Their current logo doesn't have Brooklyn on it.
Wouldn't you think that a team playing out of Brooklyn, that has a map on their jersey, would like to have Brooklyn on that map which is on the front of their jersey?
That's what I think could get interesting. - Atomic Wedgie
The new York giants, whose logo is simply NY is one of the best franchises in sports and hasnt played a home game in new York since 1975. Doesn't seem to be "interesting" or an issue for them. |

The difference being that the New York Giants' marketing is enhanced by being associated with New York, not New Jersey.
But the Islanders' marketing will be greatly enhanced by trying to expand their fan base to include Brooklyn.
How is this trolling? I'm just stating that I think the Islanders will (eventually) re-do their logo to include all of Long Island.
Which will mean Islanders fans will run out and buy the new stuff.
It's a pretty safe assumption. |

Hmmmmm, this could get interesting.
Stay safe, my Islanders friends. - Atomic Wedgie
You would think a team with a Maple Leaf on their jersey, and is suppose to represent Cananda would have more Canadians on their team.
Maybe a Canadian GM would help.... Don Cherry is right about the Leafs going in the wrong direction...
Hmmmm.... I think this is a little more interesting!!!
Stay Classy My Leaf Friend!!!

Nope, not at all. If they changed the logo by adding Brooklyn I wouldn't expect much of an uproar due to it not changing much. You really don't have much of a clue geographically how far Brooklyn is even though you just posted a pic do you? It's kind of a non event you are discussing. |

What I find interesting is why you have put so much time, energy and effort into thinking about the logo on the front of another teams jersey, especially when the fans of that team don't seem to be all that concerned about it. |

I think right now they will leave it be. However I do see down the road a change in the jersey and logo happening. just marketing , nothing to do with a map!!!! The colors will stay true but in the interest of 2015 and selling it to the old and new fanbases change will occur. ..and if history repeats it will stink and 3 years after that they will go back to the old logo...lol In the mean time I hope all of you down there to the south of me (here in Nova Scotia) are safe and the only thing damaged is the Coliseum Be safe! |
