Isnt it a bit soon to pencil Grigorenko into the top two centre positions? He's very talented, and I think he'll be a good player in the league but there's a huge difference between the Q and the NHL. He's dominating, but what happens if he plays 8-9 games and looks totally out of place. Keeping him on could be extremely detrimental to his developement. Not to mention risk of injury hampering his career. If he's facing guys like Chara, I think it would be much better for him to be more physically mature. I would've fully expected him to spend another year in junior, surprised the Remparts/Sabres didn't plan for the possibilty. |

He won't challenge for a top 2 center spot this season and everyone except Garth knows that. I don't know why he seems to get a bone for one particular player and then blogs incessantly about said player. Kane, Doan, now Grigo. Enough is enough. |

Living in Buffalo, we're luck enough to get 102.1 on the radio and it's probably been my top station for the last decade. Just thinking of the bands and artists that I never would have been exposed to had it not been for Canadian radio; Metric, Arcade Fire, Joy Formidable, MGMT, Goyte, Of Monsters and Men and dozens more. I realize that not all of these artists are from Canada, but overall I feel like the music I hear on Canadian radio has so much more substance/quality than that over the stations here in the US. - The_Inkwell
add broken social scene, and rural alberta advantage, lumineers, and wintersleep to that list |

And...
I'd leave Grigorenko in Juniors this season.
Right now, he's a man among boys there, and it's good for him to learn to dominate there. He's going to be able to develop creativity and timing that he'd never have the space to develop in the NHL.
He's still very young. I'd let him ripen up some yet (in this abbreviated season (hopfully )), and give him his trial run next yr.
That being said, I'd still give him his 9 NHL games this yr. - SuperCat
Patrick Roy agrees with you. Darcy Regier in an interview said that he talked to Patrick Roy a week ago. Regier said that in Roy's view "Grigorenko is learning to be the guy in Quebec".
Regier feels that Grigorenko would learn a lot if he were allowed to play in the AHL this year but wouldn't necessarily be the guy here. Regier said, "he's in a good place right now" and that "we like where he is". Regier's plan right now is to have Grigorenko in training camp if/when it starts up.

Ok, yeah, I was thinking that it was pretty early to say that. But then what are the Remparts going to do, even if the season comes back, Grigo could potentially be sent down again, and I thought the Remparts wouldve planned for that. From how Grath is describing it, this is a total shock and they're just scrambling Seems odd. |

Grigorenko would benefit most from spending the entire year in juniors. Learn to become the leader of his Junior team, play in the WJC and be a leader for Russia, then come back next year and see what he can do at training camp.
That also being said if the NHL lockout was to end, it probably wouldn't hurt giving him the max number of NHL games as a test period so he can get a taste of what the big league is like. |

On these boards I usually try to be as un-biased with all my posts as possible, which usually leads to other leaf fans calling me an ass kisser of other teams.
Apparently appreciating the sport as a whole past my team is a negative. |

The Hip? - robin_steele264
Unless you live in or around Buffalo, Detroit, or maybe Seattle, if you're an American, you have no idea who The Tragically Hip are. |

Agreed... Move further down south and people don't have a clue who The Tragically Hip are unless they have a northern friend.
Edit: or stumbled upon their music... |

I see, so you responded to a post talking about the vast majority of Americans that know the Hip live in close proximity to the border, or have friends from Canada, by disputing that you’re from Indiana.
Yet, you grew up in close proximity to the border, likely during a time when the Hip were at their biggest.
Good work.

I see, so you don't see that it was a joke because you aren't in the Sabres thread enough to know that about me.
Yet, you go on about it like it is a tradegy.
Solid effort. |
