He's going to Boston, I tell ya, it's Boston. - LeftCoaster
That would go over well seeing how wonderful he played in playoffs there |

Exactly. That's the way to go. Luongo to Edm it is then. - walshyleafsfan1
As long as the return is reasonable, I'm all for a Luongo trade. Hater's gonna hate, but he is still a quality tender. |

If that's the case in the new CBA, i'd be over the moon in trading Komi and a 5th for him. |

Be willing to bet Luongo is every bit as good in his late '30s early '40s as Joseph and Belfour were |

It's too much for Luongo's terrible contract. |

I suspect you're right. I'd love to have Lu in the blue & white. It just has to be the right return. I don't expect to get him for free, but not at a cost of Gardiner, Reilly, 1st rd picks etc.
How would you feel about Kadri straight up? |

Here's a question, does Luongo make the Oilers a contender? |

Maybe, it's hard to say. I certainly don't believe the Leafs should try and find out, in our precarius position. I'd suggest Edm should though. |

It's only a 6 year contract. 5 after this lockout. |

Maybe not next year but after that, yes.... and in a big way. |

Lou would make any team that makes the playoffs a contender. |

Today we will continue moving forward with the Luongo Trade discussion and build a trade around the number two ranked player in Monday’s voting, Magnus Paajarvi (20%) - IanEsplen
Moving forward, or just spiralling downward, further from reality?
Good morning, my groovy Vancouver friends.

Now, no, in two years if the Oilers make some roster moves then yes of course. |

I think Bozak and Reimer would probably be the deal from what the Media as rumouring here.
If Luongo hasn't retired by the time he is 39 he will be put on LTIR with concusion like symptoms for the rest of his career like Pronger. The only players Bettmans proposal will hurt are other players still paying insurance rates. Hossa Keith Luongo all magically have concusions when they approach 40 . |

If that's the case, then Luongo's price just doubled.
The sticking point has always been the term of the contract. If Vancouver is responsible for any remaining cap hit after Lu hangs'em up, then the contract is no longer an issue for any teams interested and those will increase. More teams equal bidding wars.
It sounds off, but this might be a blessing in disguise for Vancouver. |

If Tor drafted the best goalie prospect this year and put him in the AHL for 2 to 3 years and brought him up and let him back up for 2 to 3 years ,then around the 5 or 6 year when he is ready Lu would then be ready to retire . |

I'd be fine with that return, no problem. |

If you were told that you could get a goalie that could get you in the playoffs every season and win 2 cups in the 10 years he is with your team would you take him for Lou's contract? |

Understood.
Then Vancouver puts him on LTIR and can bring in someone of equal value. No problem ,ask Dipietro |

He has to have players in front of him to accomplish that, teams like Toronto don't currently have that. |

You can't just place a player on LTIR.
DiPietro has actually been hurt. I think I read somewhere that his knees have been rebuilt like 62 times. |
