On a more serious note, what the Titans are doing tonoght brought a smile to my face. That's a wonderful, wonderful gesture. Only another reason I love hockey....easily the most charitable of all major sports. Makes me proud.
My heart goes out to all affected.
Thanks for all the hard work and have fun in Trenton tonight!
Fantastic Blog, its a shame that Lola1 is not showing the bears
A few buddies of mine are thinking about going to the Titans game tonight, help a good cause and catch my first live game of the year! Sounds like a win win.
Sandy hit pretty close to home for me as I have some family members who lost their houses at the shore. I my self was beyond lucky, I didnt loose power at home (I live in bucks county), on top of that my beach house in ocean city NJ was fine, minus 6 inches of water in the shed we had no water in the house and apparently we never lost power there. So I count my self lucky and plan on helping others who were not so lucky this weekend.
Blog now fully updated with all Friday games -- AHL, ECHL, Europe, CHL, NCAA -- and game webcast/audio links, plus Thursday results and highlight links.

It's looking like Matt Read is legit as a player and the player we saw last year wasnt some fluke. - moonwasaloon
Keep in mind he's playing against lesser talent now, but I didn't he'd be a fluke anyway. I think at his age what we see is what we get. Really great player to have for the cost!

Playing against lesser talent, yes, but teams with good defensive systems. Actually, the gap between Elitserien and Allsvenskan right now is pretty minor, especially with the NHL influx into Allsvenskan.

What ever happened with that appeal to let NHL players into the elite league

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to downplay the talent in those leagues, but guys like read will probably enjoy more success there than the NHL. Hopefully I'm wrong though and he continues to excel once the NHL gets back on track. IF it get back on track..

Teams in Elitserien are free to make their own choice now. Two teams have signed one locked-out NHL apiece. The other 10 have chosen to stick with the original decision not to sign NHL players during the lockout.
