Larry Brooks @NYP_Brooksie
Told that PA proposed that players get last year's share plus 5 pct this yr regardless of schedule length/actual revenue...
Larry Brooks @NYP_Brooksie
Last year's share was 1.883B...plus 5 pct would be $1.977B...would likely eat 65-67 pct of revenue in 66-68 game season. |

Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
NHL is very frustrated by Fehr...they are going after him. The gloves are off now.
Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Again, crux of dispute is memo from last night that was leaked. NHL believes Fehr "hid" details of "make-whole." One player says it was...
Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Deliberately kept out of that memo because they knew it would get out and they didn't want to reveal specific details. |

Going after Fehr is the NHL's most disingenuous media ploy in, like, hours. Funny that Bettman said tonight, "Whatever it takes." |

When talk of Fehr taking over NHLPA surfaced, NHL owners/GMs snickered and guffawed. When it became official, they gulped. |

Can confirm #NHLPA offer details by @NYP_Brooksie -- stunning if accurate. Players looking for $1.83B compounded by 5% annually.
John Shannon @JSportsnet
Getting conflicting stories about PA ask.Suspect the 1.83 Billion plus 5% ask is to be basis of CBA. Shorten season would be pro-rated.
John Shannon @JSportsnet
Told PA's discussion of $ was merely be basis of new system, not to be pay for short season.70 games would mean players get 85% of salary.
Chris Johnston @reporterchris
The NHLPA says it was looking for agreement on the structure of a deal with NHL -- then deal with affects of shortened season |

To back up what others have said, Devils players have all raved about job Don Fehr has done and flow of info -- especially compared to 2004. |

To me, Fehr has been withholding key information from media, which I understand. Players all tell me they feel fully informed. |

Don Fehr:"we'll meet tomorrow morning internally. Don't know what the next step is."
Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
Fehr says league proposal for Make Whole not nearly good enough... Says both sides may meet Saturday but not for sure yet
Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
Fehr also denies that he's not fully communicated any of the league's offers to his players.
Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
Fehr says NHLPA doesn't feel it is as far apart on core economic issues as NHL says they are... |

Tough meeting today. Talks were good this week but some say its because Jeremy Jacobs (Bruins owner) was not there...until today. |

I think it's a great way of sharing revenue. And teams actually get something for their buck. - MJL
Thanks MJL. At this point I'm becoming skeptical that a deal will happen. Hopefully they come to their senses and compromise. We'll see. |
