That's gotta be NBC talking. Have to think the broadcast boys who own the Leafs are thinking the same way.

Bettman may only need 7 votes but it can't be good for him if he keeps this lockout going simply with the support of the bottom feeders he brought into the league.

- Canada Cup

Bettman's strength over the last decade and a half was keeping the owners unified towards a common goal. The problem is, unlike the last lockout, this round of CBA talks has shown that not all teams/owners have the same needs. This makes it harder to maintain unity when the bulk of the owners would rather be playing than risking fan loyalty to help the chronic bottom feeders fight for survival...which even this CBA may not even help with.

And of course Dreger now comes out to say that Snider still firmly behind Bettman. He really has become Gary's bumboy

Dreger is biased and evil.

Prust and White don't like him.

Arencibia??? I've never heard anything close to that, and in fact have heard the exact opposite.

But yeah, he MAY be expendable..... Problem is Buck sucked royally last year and is making tons of $$ and D'Anaud is a ?. Is he ready now to contribute on a winning team or not?? He's never had a major league at bat so to rely on him as #1 is a huge gamble especially after making all these moves.

Also they claimed another backup catcher earlier this week, so now they have 3 guys not including they young guy.

The rumors were that they may try to package JP to shore up LF, but that is no longer an issue. I heard they may be after Marcum for more pitching depth.

I heard the Marcum thing a few weeks ago. I wonder if it is still valid?

I could see Rasmus + Arencebia for a better CF maybe or a better 2nd base?

Hamilton isn't a CF.... and doesn't need to be traded for.

half right.

hamilton is a CF, and was til 2010. the only reason he has been playing RF was the rangers needed to make room in the lineup for borbon

It's 8 million over 6 years, not 4 a season.

Agreed.

To be serious though, the league wont fold teams, they would relocate them. Or just prop them up at the expense of the richer teams like we're seeing now.

Hell yea. We will be salivating at having likely the best odds of winning the lottery, only to lose the lottery.

Seems like a really deep and good draft year. Toronto will very likely get a solid player this draft if no season is played. (Mackinnon, Monahan, Shinkaruk, Domi)
