if frattins goal scoring translates to the nhl that would be fantastic, but he has a ton of other tools which make him a valuable commodity with the Leafs.
10-20 goals and a ton of energy is fine by me. |

JFJ should of just avoided trading altogether, his drafting was actually pretty good
prolly why SJ scooped him up to be one of their scouts |

Internal pressure from above, to win now, forced his hand. His on ice results aren't much better or worse than BB. |

His drafting was actually a mixed bag.
2004 was a waste of time, although in JFJ's defence, he didn't have many picks to work with.
2005 wasn't particularly great. Funny thing: he took Rask, who 7 years later has still only played 102 games at the NHL level. Is it possible Toronto haters have over-rated him? After Rask, pretty much nothing. Sure, Strahlman in the 7th round, but nobody should take credit for a 7th rounder working out. It's like bragging you bought a winning lottery ticket.
2006 was JFJ's finest moment as a Leafs GM - but even then, Tlusty was Busty. Giroux, Berglund or Foligno were better picks (yeah, I know: 20/20 hindsight). Kulemin was a good pick in the 2nd round. Jury is still out on Remier, and Stalberg was a 6th rounder (see ticket, lottery).
2007 gets JFJ another incomplete grade - no 1st or 2nd rounders. Keep your fingers crossed for Frattin, and the Gunn show in the 7th round was once again lucky.
It just doesn't strike me as the greatest drafting GM of all time. |

in fairness i said pretty good.. not that it was spectacular.
the jury is out on rask til this season (or the one in 2015, whatever comes next).. but there was some decent nhl talent that he grabbed..
i also think his draft record would of been better if he had held onto more of the picks than he did. |

You guys don't think the season Rask started was enough to at least sway 'the jury' in a good draft selection rather than a bust? Not saying he's great, but from his NHL starts would you say there is a higher likelihood of success rather than failure? He is playing spectacular overseas (even though he is coming back). |

every year he found a guy in the late round... when you pick 3 straight lottery winners, maybe you should start bragging. Or maybe it's not quite a lottery? |
