Monohan I like too, but confession, I loved both Cody Hodgson and Brayden Schenn just because they were centres.

Ill be fine as long as we dont take another Dman.

Leafs have picked in the top 10 three times in recent years. Only one was a forward. Its time they filled that need in the organization, (star potential forwards) because Kadri isnt living up to and being given the chance to live up to expectations.

As it stands now, I probably would take Domi. But Domi is down on my list and not as high as guys like Monohan, Mac and Shinkaruk.

Thing is, both Barkov and Domi are risks and not a guarantee. But with Domi he could at least turn into a solid 3rd line player, whereas Euros dont often fit into those roles if they dont pan out as offensive weapons.

How can you not like a guy named Hunter on your team. Already has a nickname

Speaking of Monohans and Barkovs goals/gamesplayed, Shinkaruk has them both beat with 17 goals in 24 games.

He was all the rage until he stunk at the world juniors.

Barkov was one of the youngest players to ever play at the WJC.

He's quite literally doing things that haven't been done at this age before. Seems like a special type of player.

Shinkaruk is a late 1994, so not only is he older but he's also not playing against professionals.

How about getting the guy who is going to be even younger than Barkov

Im really not that concerned with age as much as I am with what theyre doing right now. Him being older, and producing to expectation makes him less of risk and also makes him more ready to take the next step in his development.

As far as the level of competition, I put more emphasis on the level of skill as opposed to their age. I think its safe to say the WHL is not inferior in talent to any Finnish league. Age, sure...but age doesnt win you games. Talent does.

Considering Shinkaruk scored 49 goals in 66 games last year, Well better than the pace Barkov is on now, age is a moot point as far as this goes.

Funny because Barkov is producing more, in a tougher league at a younger age.

The WHL versus the Junior Finnish league, definitely. But not the SM-Liiga. That's top tier professionals and full grown men. That's like saying the OHL could beat the AHL.

Funny because at the same age as Barkov is now, Shinkaruk scored 49 goals in 66 games. Far better than Barkovs pace of 13 goals in 27 games.

The OHL could beat the AHL. It would actually be a good game. Full grown men doesnt not mean the same as tougher competition in a hockey game. Finnish leagues dont have near the talent that CHL leagues have.

Explain to me again how Barkov is producing more than Shinkaruk, by being inferior to Shinkaruk in stats...

Outstanding like Pogge or outstanding like Barkovs 13 goals in 27 games being > Shinkaruks 49 goals in 66 games?

It's odd that the OHL is better than the AHL and yet, somehow, Kadri couldn't go from scoring 93 points in the OHL to scoring 150 in the AHL. After all, the AHL is way easier to play in.

Its odd that the NHL is supposed to be a better league than the AHL and yet, Kadri has 2 goals in 17 games...below the pace he was on the last time he was in the NHL with 5 goals in 21 games.

Its odd, isnt it?

Odd that Barkov has better production than Shinkaruk by having less production than him.

Eberle after 18 NHL games: 4 goals, 13 points.

Eberle after 18 AHL games: 11 goals, 26 points.

Well, that blew up in your face pretty fast.

So, in other words, Eberle is scoring in the AHL, like he was in the WHL.

Well, that blew up in your face pretty fast. Funny you brought that up because I was editing my post to reflect just that.

Barkov, 13 goals in 27 games.

Shinkaruk, 49 goals in 66 games.

Well, that blew up in your face pretty fact.

So therefore, the NHL is easier than the AHL. So, the OHL beats the AHL and the AHL beats the NHL therefore OHL beats the NHL.

Must be why the Oilers sent RNH back to junior. Because it's tougher competition than the AHL.

Must be why Barkov isnt in the NHL, AHL or CHL. Just too damn good to be playing with scrubs.

The Oilers should have sent RNH to Finland if they wanted him to be a good player.

Or maybe, just maybe, playing in a top tier, professional league, against full grown men as a 16/17 year old and being among the leaders in scoring is a lot tougher than you give it credit for.

What good is playing in a league of full grown men when those full grown men are far from being as talented as those in NA.

Barkov is not 16 or 17, please get over this.

Shinkaruk has out produced Barkov. Quite frankly, that trumps playing with grown men, even if you put higher priority and preferance to such activity.

The Leafs should send Kadri to play and train with the Leafs alumni. Just imagine how much better his shooting will be having Bower as his practise goalie! Put him on a line with Sittler and Clark and watch out! GROWN MEN
