I don't want to talk politics. But isn't the Fiscal cliff negotiations and the lockout negotiations eerily similar. The same BS. It's amazing. - MJL
Posturing, finger pointing, complaining, pointless appealing to the masses, and a general avoidance of anything one could describe as progress or compromise. It's annoyingly similar.

I have to say that trying to explain this cluster(frank) to my 10 year-old son has been quite irritating.
"Don't the owners and players both *want* there to be a hockey season?"
Answer that, Mr. Bettman and Mr. Fehr - and without the nightsoil you've been shoveling the public since June.

I have to say, I wasn't even slightly as invested in the last lockout as I am in this one (I was younger, unfortunately I just wasn't very into sports). It's offered me a lot of perspective on the lingering feelings towards players, owners, and Bettman some have from last time. I do have to say, though, it still stuns me how ardently some stand by one side or the other at this point.
