The guy shut down the the league's MVP last year in the playoffs--so much so they had a guy run him just to get him off Malkin's back.
I'm not really interested at all about how Coots or Schenn are doing in the AHL because it's a moot point really. How they do in the NHL is all that matters.
Which leads me to my next question...
What the (frank) is the NHL? |

I think I just read Couturier compared to Pavel Brendl. |

By now I've learned that there are many worse comparisons, and enough stupid people in the world to make sure they're all made.

Markus Svensson has been the better goalie (and slightly more regular starter) of late. But the two SAIK goalies' season stats are eerily identical.
Eriksson 18 GP, 11-7 record, 1.90 GAA, .927 SV%, 2 SO
Svensson 15 GP, 9-5 record, 1.91 GAA, .928 SV%, 2 SO
It should also be reiterated that Elitserien has become the lowest scoring league in Europe over the last couple seasons. The 11th best goalie save percentage stats in the 12-team league belong to former NHLer Fredrik Norrena. On a weak Lakers team, he's still managed a 2.05 GAA and .922 SV%.
With all that said, I do think Eriksson is still a prospect to play in North America if he's willing to take a two-way contract as a free agent and spend at least one season in the AHL. - bmeltzer
If the Hovinen thing turns out to be a failure, i hope they go after Sunshine. I always thought he had the the more skills and upside of the two (not to mention he's younger, not by much but still). Im sure he'll be signed by the time the ruling on Niko is done though, really hope it's not to Toronto though. |

Bryz shot down an interview request in Russia by telling the reporter he couldn't talk because he was in Cosmonaut training.
Jesus, I hope that's not apocryphal. |
