Hate reality shows! Nothing "real" about any of them. They're all rigged, scripted, planned, however you choose to desribe it. Orange county choppers for instance, used to love it until they decided the show was getting too monotounus and decided to pit Sr. against Jr.
Nothing but a PR stunt and a plug to expand the show IMO. |

"Dysfunctional’ Business Model Puts the N.H.L. in Peril, Experts Say'

San Jose is a really good hockey town actually. They lost some money last year because the team didnt perform. They are built to be profitable by going a couple rounds in the playoffs. If they dont get those extra games in...they lose money. They go deep, they make money. - Iggysbff
worst business plan ever...they have to go deep to make money, in a 30 team league
anyway my point wasn't that SJ is a "bad" hockey town...my point is obviously the current system is broken despite what players think if a "good" market losses money after selling out every game and making the playoffs. This lockout was necessary these guys cant just continue to lose money |

attendance numbers are also misleading...most of these "great" hockey markets can't charge the ticket prices necessary to cover operating costs. Phoenix "sold out" games in the playoffs but they were basically giving away tickets.

Not sure anyone is accusing Phoenix of being a "great" hockey market. The question is, why are operating costs so high that almost half the league can't seem to turn a profit? |

I think this is a common misnomer by many. Hockey does actually exist outside of Canada and the US east cost. San Jose has been one of the more successful teams over the past 10 years, why is it so hard to believe they have a major following in their home town? Obviously it's not what most would consider a "traditional hockey market", mostly just because it's warm climate locale. But, doesn't mean they can't be considered a "hockey city". - MnGump
I agree 100%. I am a big Panther fan and S.Fla is a huge hocket market. We may have been in the red financially, and I know the past 10 years were hard but we have a good team now and future looks bright. We should be turning a profit soon and helping the league grow just a bit. |

Yeah that's for certain, but all things considered, his life turned out pretty good and as far as his parents, that little episode could have ended in much more tragic fashion than it did.
Dad sounds like he was quite the pyscho back in the day. |

Derek Roy gone and out of a Sabres uniform!
Another year with the young core growing of Ennis, Myers , Hodgson , and the vets Pommers, Vanek and Stafford and of course maybe the best goaltender in the league when he is on the very top of his game Ryan Miller!
Oh and did I say Derek Roy gone and out of a Sabres uniform? |
