lakers suck right now, easy win for the Knicks.....should'nt be too exciting - seven111dman
Nah, don't say that. Nothing is easy when you have Kobe. Do I expect the Knicks to win? Yes but you never know. Just like I thought the Knicks would get destroyed down in Miami without Carmelo a week or so ago. |

14,000 average is pretty good for a team that has made the playoffs once in 11 years, never won a playoff game, and has one of the worst GMs in the game. - niedermayer27
if you say so.....its also a one sport town, that helps. Yes. I know OSU is there. |

Doesn't sound like PA is willing to work with the NHL's 3 main issues. League responded by saying it won't budge. No progress. As you were.
I wonder why the meter went from No Progress to just over The Hump since this afternoon. |

Most sources are fishing right now. I wouldn't take much from that comment. |

ESPN also proudly carries the National Spelling Bee... - Homer
in canada, on tsn or sportsnet, they'll occassionally show "professional darts," from england.
the funniest thing you'll ever see is the introductions. it's like the introductions prior to a boxing or ufc fight full of lights, music and an over-enthusiastic emcee.
the english crowd goes wild for those beer bellied bastards! |

ESPN used to air an outdoors competition where guys used to hack and climb trees for time.
It was at least better than their morning programming these days, which mostly consists of negro-baiting phony debate b/t Skip Bayless and Screamin' A Smith. - Travis Yost
lumberjack competitions?
that's canada's number 3 sport behind hockey and curling! |

Very similar to Sunday AM ESPN Bowling.
These cats are out there like it's game seven, lining up strikes and spares.

Bettman stated we wouldn't play fewer than 48 games. -> season would have to start around January 20 -> deal would have to be signed around January 10 at the latest. There's your drop dead date. Roughly 4 weeks left. |

Tv ratings for regular season and playoffs have been good too with the exception of last year. Last season was a debacle for the franchise. With the addition of John Davidson things should finally start turning around if we ever get playing. BTW when JD took over St Louis, they were drawing 10000 a game and giving away free food to get fans in the stands. Columbus has never had a winner, never won a playoff game, the franchise has sucked since inception. Yet Corporate support and fan support has still been there. |

smaller building, simple. Winnipeg would have 5K more if their building would hold it. - Homer
but their building can't.
So even if it is a "good" hockey market, they are still not brining in more revenue than the Jackets per say for a Canadian market.
My point is, you can't judge a good hockey market vs a bad one, when TWO canadian teams bailed in the last 20yrs, from "good hockey markets".
