What happened in Connecticut today makes the whole NHL vs PA disagreement seem really petty.

In a less screwed up world, they would sign the CBA immediately and let in anyone under 18 free for the balance of the season....

Yep. Im all for the right to own some weapons but god damn I dont want anyone to have the ability to buy thousands of rounds of ammo online or get to tote around a downgrade from an actual assault rifle.

It's much easier to obtain a gun illegally. So legal or not, if somebody wants a gun, they're going to get it. So we should revamp our constitutional rights because we have crazy people in our society? If a robber is breaking into my house trying to burglarize it, what do you think is going to intimidate him more, a kitchen knife or a gun?
Here's an idea, instead of making guns illegal, make it illegal to have a child out of wed lock or better yet, make having a child a crime if not legally licensed to do so! Guarantee society would rid itself of the majority of numbskulls with behavioral and mental issues. Because all the dumb teens, dopers and impoverished would stop having kids that they're ill-equipped to raise.

If you honestly believe that you are off your rocker... I live in Killadelphia. Thats the nickname. One of the highest murder rates of any major city... in the World.

Yet, for me, and most people like me.. Id have one hellll of a time trying to figure out where to get an illegal gun, track that person down, and making sure I was able to get it.

Yet, I could drive 25 mintues to an Arms store.. fill out a slip of paper and go on my merry way.

Yes gun control is a major issue but if they didn't have access to guns they would find another way. It's sad but true. So sad that that have to tak innoncent young lives instead of just killing themsleves and not hrting anybody else.

Plenty of laws in place to control guns. Some would argue too many. You can't be that naive to say because someone kills someone with a gun that therefore there is no gun control. You must be more intelligent than that I hope.

Gun control laws are as tight and restricted as they've ever been in this country, why do you think the NRA feels constant threat that our constitutional rights are being trampled on?

Guns or not, society will always have idiots. Guns are simply a means to an end for a criminal. Take away guns and they'll use bombs. Take away bombs and they'll use something else etc..

So if I decided to drive my car down a busy high pedestrian traffic street down town at lunch time and kill a dozen people, should we ban automobiles as well?

I would also wager that about 95% of those who would want to obtain a firearm would figure out a way to obtain one, or get someone who did know how to do it for them.

I'm not necessarily against stricter gun control laws, but I'm not absolutely convinced that they would prevent tragedies like this either. I believe the problem runs much deeper than that.
