How did I lose at an argument? I was agreeing that Toronto is the obvious #1 destination amongst NHL superstars... No other team has a chance, because every player in the league wants to go to Toronto... They can choose whatever players that want. Just like they've always done. - laughs2907
You lost the arguement by agreeing Toronto is the obvious #1 destination, when nobody made that claim. Also, and most importantly, by your behaviour.
Besides, we all know everyone wants to be in Edmonton. Pronger said so. Remember, Edmonton has a mall. Lets see Toronto get a mall! |

Did you read the post where i did the math for you??? I proved you wrong. Unless of course your argument was that the top 10 spending teams in baseball win championships. Pretty easy to when ya include 10 teams into your theory. - ruttager17
Yes, I saw the math where you added 2 + 2 and got 3.
Top 10 spending teams in baseball do win championships. Far more than those outside the top 10.
Its proven and its a fact. You can whine and cry, but it doesnt change anything. |

Do you understand the concept of a free market? The 3 or 4 people who are the best in the world at something have considerable market power. You deal with their agents if they say you deal with their agents.
Where does property of a team for life come from? I don't understand your points about free agents. Everybody is a free agent when their contract expire and teams cannot suggest compensation. That is collusion.
This is not a goodvsystem for most players but it is a great system for the best players. - Canada Cup
Go back and read about how life was in the 50's, and 60's for players before unions evolved for the players. You are forgetting that without the CBA, it wouldn't mean there would be a 'free market'. The League could still make up their own rules. Whether they did remains to be seen. The league could impose a step and grade system that takes the negotiating out of the players hands. They could treat it just like any other company and impose salary levels. They could make pay based on years of service and other metrics. Pay could be based on past performance, not future potential. While the big market teams might like to buy the league, in order for the league to coexist in a non CBA, the Commish would have to impose rules to keep it a fair playing field. Trust me. They players want no part of a non-cba world. They would quickly find out what the rest of us already know. Without a CBA, the owners have only one goal. To make money. And all rules would be based on making money, regardless of how it impacts the 'employees'. |

I agree with this. If baseball had same play-off structure as hockey, half the team making the play-offs would be low salary teams v - Canada Cup
Low salary teams like Texas, LA Angels, Detroit, New York?
The Oakland A's made the playoffs and mind (frank)ed everyone. Amazing. |

Anyway, who wants to play a game?
Cool, let's go...
Which team has the longest current playoff drought? Hmmmmmm |

you originally said the teams who spend the most money. I can freaking say the top 20 spending teams in baseball win more often than the bottom ten spending teams. You didnt say top 4, top 5 or top ten, you said top spending teams, teams that spend the most money win championships. If you make the number the top ten teams now well poop of course ya increase the odds of your theory being correct. Too bad you didnt say the top ten teams in the first place. |

If it is collusion, tell me why so many company in the world have a step and grade pay systems? Instead of a manager saying the salary for a supervisor is 50K, it would be a GM saying the salary for a 4th year, 3rd line forward is 800K.
As for collusion, they league would argue they are 1 company with 30 divisions, not 30 separate companies.

If this is true about Iginla & St. Louis, why wouldn't any players go public about it, at this point, if there are more that want to play than continue a losing fight, then the majority, you would think gets vocal.
If I'm Iginla & I state publicly what your saying is true, how many hard core union idiots can verbally slay Iginla as he's about as respected as they come.
I guess thats why $hit players with no contracts like Hainsey & Campoli are in the fore front |

Those emoticons sure made up for your lack of a coherent thought and arguement. Well played.
I listed teams like Boston, Detroit, Philly, Rangers, Canucks and Habs too. Quick ignore those facts, they hurt your head too much. Stewie Griffin will liberate you from the mental pain of such an exersice.
I love games! The team with longest current playoff drought is also the team most valued and richest team in the league. Hmmmmmm indeed. I wonder who Stewie Griffin thinks it is...hmmmm - systemtool

Shut you filthy newfie whore mouth.... Everybody wants to play in Toronto.... You just wait until Seguin, Hamilton, amd Rask leave Boston to join the mighty Phil 'the thrill' Kessel. - RichardHertz
Apparently there's a lot of people who are convinced that Stamkos will be signing with Toronto as well. They're going to be a force... But then again, aren't they always? |
