he's matured since his time on the island
- Crimsoninja

Oh yeah? Why did the Lightning let such a great player go especially when Hedman obviously hasn't matured yet and Brewer doesn't have much left? Not arguing just curious what your take is?

Was that right after he was cowering on the ice like a little girl after getting beat to sh!t?

I'm not being critical of him because he is on another team. Believe me. I forgot he was even a Flyer till today quite honestly. If he was such a great defenseman better than Hedman, Brewer, etc why wouldn't have Steve Y kept him especially for the price he would have came at? It makes zero sense. You'll be cringing every time you see him with the puck once the season starts. Even on our team I couldn't understand how he continued to get ice time?

Ill be ok with him as a veteran #6, 7 guy. Do I wish he was better? Sure.

I hear you but if he was as described by the other poster you don't let them go. Just my two cents, bored at work

Another poster said he was one of the Lightnings best defenseman last year. I think that would qualify?

I said he was one of their better defensemen. Not one of their worst, or their complete worst, as you seem to want to argue. He'll come to Philly and be one of our worst defensemen, now.

I'm not arguing but saying someone is one of their better defenseman is closer to great than worst or "complete worst". Really splitting hairs at this point, getting a bit ridiculous. I wish chef Bruno the best in Philly, I actually forgot he went to you guys.

He is what he is. A veteran guy who will give us 8-10 minutes a night on the third pair (when he plays) at a cap friendly hit. No one here is saying he is going to be a Norris candidate. Hell, the closest he will get to the Ashbee trophy will be moving out of its way when they carry it on the ice.

Well the way this usual works with me is he will probably turn into a super star in Philly so you guys can bust my chops when the time comes.

Oh yeah? Get back to me on that one. He's terrible, whether I'm a fan of a terrible team or not is not relevant.
- Cptmjl

First of all I didn't say anything about who you're a fan of. So I agree that's not relevant. Secondly, we'll see how he is if they ever play a game. But I'm going to lean on the side of the Pro Hockey scouts and GM's on this one. If he's terrible and couldn't play in the NHL, I don't see why the Flyers would sign him to a contract.

Like was said earlier. It's all relative. To ask a rhetorical question, what do you think you're going to get for 825K a year? He's a depth player. I heard the same thing about Lilja last year. He stunk too before he ever played a game for the Flyers.

There is nothing worse than trolls trying to raise the blood of other hockeybuzz users. It is the holidays, and it is sad to see such nonsense.

That's a good one, what's even funnier is you calling me a troll which I'm not. If anyone was trolling it was the mod insinuating that there had to be someone worse then Gervais on the Islanders which I thought was funny. I think I could probably come up with some better material than Bruno Gervais if I wanted to ruffle someone's feathers. Happy holidays!

I don't know why I'm continuing this, probably because I'm bored at work? If you read the posts you'd see nobody was trolling. The mod was kidding as was I and it was a joke. I have no idea how I disrespected anyone? Anyway, everyone have a great New Year!

Allow me to go on the record as saying that I had/have no problem with what cptmjl was saying or how he said it. We simply had different opinions and nobody got angry or vulgar while expressing their opinions.

So we can all be like Bryz and just chill. Why you have to be mad?
