Reinhart can barely play in this tournament, let alone the NHL. He has been supremely disappointing. - Leafs43
I don't know what you guys want from Reinhart, he isn't the same type of player as Reilly. But the fact that the coaches trust Reinhart enough to be on the ice in a 6 on 4 situation is enough for me. He might not be NHL ready, but he has been good in this tournament and has been really good in the last two seasons for the Oil Kings. |

Bring on those sneaky (frank)in' Russians!
BTW, does anyone know who sets the schedule? Because it's almost looks painfully obvious that the Russians did! |

Admittedly "supremely disappointing" was an overstatement. I was just expecting a lot more from him. I was expecting him to be the 3rd or 4th guy, and he has been the 5th or 6th. |

That is what is brought in as. He isn't ahead of Reilly, Hamilton, Harrington or Oulette. Not at this point, he and Wotherspoon were brought along to be big and defensive. Murphy is supposed to be the PP specialist but has been underwhelming. |

Ya +3 1 assist and 4 pm is barely able to play against the best kids in the >20 age range in the world.
The one thing that can be said for a defenseman if your not being noticed your doing your job.
But since your opinion is everything from out east is better than anything from the west then you can keep it.
I believe the Islanders are quite happy with his developement this year being named to the world juniors, being named captian of the Oil Kings and playing against the top lines in the WHL.
Myself I am happy with him.
I also think Xavier Oullet and Scott Harrington are also having a good tourney. |

I agree with NHL players not being eligible. Maybe put a game limit, say if you played 25 games in NHL you're not eligible. - adambuffalo
I wish they'd play every year. I hate the questions after the fact (but would Canada have won it ________, ________, and ________ weren't playing in the NHL).

I have already admitted that I was too hard on him. Regardless, he still doesn't look NHL ready to me.

I wouldn't put weight on anything that Spott does because Ryan Murphy continues to get ice time. He should be handed over to the KGB and shot. Reinhart isn't standing out but he's not as bad as people are making him out to be.
RC, Canada didn't steal this win. They went up 2-0 and boringly played protect the lead, but they also could have been up 4-0 if it wasn't for Gibson, he was a beast in this game just lik Subban was. |

I don't get this automatic defense mechanism that because someone is from the east and they criticize someone/thing related to western canada that they are doing so only because they are from the west. Its truly frustrating to see as someone from the Maritimes and is married to someone from BC. We are going to end up like Russia circa early 90's if attitudes like that continue on and get stronger.
Its all fine and dandy to be proud of your town/region, I certainly am proud of where I grew up and NS in general, but have some humility/thick skin. |

I'm glad subban finally shut some people up. He played well as did Gibson.
I've been impressed with Reilly, Harrington, and Oullet all tournament. Hamilton has been underwhelming for me.
Americans don't seem to have enough offensive creativity up front aside from galchenyuk. And as it has been addressed he's been getting very little minutes. Trouba has been awesome. Jones didn't have the best game but I love how he controls the offensive blue line.
I think drouin solidified himself a top 5 spot in the draft. I'd say top three but I Haven't watched lindholm or barkov. Unreal stick handler and skater.

-Ryan Murphy sucks balls and has no business being on this team
-Jacob Trouba and Seth Jones is the best D pairing in the tournanment. Both have very bright futures
-Dougie Hamilton has played better than people are saying. Murphy is that bad of a partner
-Malcom Subban needs to learn how to control rebounds better
-Nuge is the mother(frank)in man!

Im wondering if Hamilton is just one of those guys who are better suited for the North American style and ice. Oullet has impressed me the most from the teams D to be honest. Maybe because my expectations werent as high for him as RH and RM?
If Drouin has played his way into the top 5, then Barkov IMO has played his was out of it. |

That's possible and maybe he's more worried about not making mistakes out there. I just didn't see a "chl defenseman of the year" who put up 72 points or whatever it was. He was not a weakness by any means but as you said expectations could be part of it as they were for Oullet.
I wish tsn played the other games as well or at least on replay from whoever is covering the other pool. I'm wondering if drouins size holds him back at all.

I don't agree with Spott's use of Murphy and MacKinnon so far, but using Reinhart on the PK is a no brainer in my view. The Oil Kings are at something around 91% on the PK and Reinhart is a big part of that.
I don't know if people have Griffin confused for his father and brothers who are all offensive minded players, but he doesn't play that style. He reminds of Marc Staal minus the offense. The Oil Kings do use him on the PP, but that is mostly because he is a decent passer and can hit the net, but he is far from Morgan Reilly. |

Thought so. Of the three teams that had a chance to win the pool (Canada, US or Russia), Russia gave themselves the EASIEST SCHEDULE BY FAR, and it's brutally obvious. |

We do it when it's in Canada, it's a perk of hosting the tourny. Not an excuse to be used to lose tomorrow. Whatever the schedule is, you have to win and not be concerned with it. |
