So Canada wins the Spengler. Dubey in the net for all the wins. I am having a hard time finding actual stats there but he let in 3 goals in 56 shots over the last two games. Wonder if Lahey is relaxing his stance on Dubey and his "inability to win when games matter"?

EDIT: 3 games, 1.25GAA, .956sv%

Edmonton hasn't played a game that matters since 2006. Exactly what opportunity have we had to see whether Dubey is clutch in a pinch?

Also, if there is one lesson we should learn from Vancouver, it's that publicly shaming your goaltender for the failings of the team diminishes your goaltender's capacity to win the games that matter.

Let's not do that to our starter.

His game reminds me a lot of Ovechkin. Tries so hard when he has the puck but if the puck isn't on his stick he just seems to coast out there.

There were several times I saw him drive hard with the puck, drawing an extra man over to him, then dishing off to someone else. I remain convinced there's more there than OV-lite.

You must be new to the complaint he has.

Lahey says that while the season in not lost Dubey plays poorly, once the season is gone he starts to play better.

We just saw Dubey play a short series in which he won all his games and had some pretty good stats. Even out playing his "better" in Cory Schneider.

Now don't get me wrong, it was not him stealing the games for his team, it was that he had a good team in front of him.

He's been good, but no, not top 3 in the tourney.

LOL. Strome is easily top 3

No. He's actually quite easily not. On team Canada alone, Nugent Hopkins and Huberdeau were better. It's pretty much not even a question that Galchenyuk was better too. He was on fire all tourney. Kucherov has been great.

Again, Strome has been pretty good. But top 3 on Team Canada is a maybe. Top 3 in the tournament, not by a long shot.

You're being a homer.

Okay, just as I say this he has the worst game of the tournament. I am not saying he is the best defense man on the team but he had a great start to the tournament. However after last nights game I might be wrong. He shows real promise and I think he would be a great gamble in a second round draft pick next year for some team.

Okay, this is where I say you’re a little out to lunch again. Seth Jones is expected to go SECOND OVERALL, not the second round. He’s one of the most highly touted prospects around. He’s not “underrated”. He’s rated extremely highly.

I wasn’t making a comment implying that he’s not very good. He’s VERY good for a 17 year old. But he’s also rated as such.

Yeah I hated Dubey and I am relaxing my stance. I might even buy one of his Jerseys. Give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Not to sell on here as I don't make a profit and I don't know the guy at all but I buy Jerseys of most players for all my family. I know a guy in Edmonton that sells what looks to be Authentic Jerseys or the most amazing replicas I have ever seen (tags and sewn logos, labels etc) for $40 each. Unless he raised his price since summer. He has all the Oilers in kids and adult sizes and can get anything else. I bought my 5 year old a Hall, myself a RNH, Eberle and Hemsky. I also have a Nail one paid for but I am waiting till he actually skates with a number. He is selling Nail though. I don't know if he has the older Jerseys but he does have the current. I also bought a Steve Yzerman one because he is just a great Canadian player.

Msg me if you want his information. His store is on the NW (only open nights) or he will meet you on his lunch break downtown. Again, I do not know him, Never met him as I get my cousin to pick up the jerseys. I get no commission or any benefit for referring people. Just want to help you guys out in getting cheaper jerseys.

AH... OK I understand now, thanks for the clarification. I understand his point, but I still don't fully agree. What I do agree on is that the jury is still out as to whether Dubie can give his team 40 quality starts per season. I love this "advanced" stat.

Quality Start is awarded if the starting goalie stops a league average number of shots (typically 91.2%), or plays at least as well as a replacement-level goalie (88.5%) while allowing two goals or fewer. *

Apparently teams win something like 75% of the games where they get a quality start. Seems pretty decisive to me.

Dude, that's a great offer, but I'm boycotting the NHL until they've played a full season. Thanks though - if I wasn't so pissed off at the players I'd take you up on that offer!
