I remember 24, 6 years ago was fantastic. I was in shape, we could watch the NHL I could flirt with 18 year old girls and feel only slightly creepy. Now at 30, I have to be a grown up, I have grey hairs and a guy, 18 year old girls scare me now. Enjoy it Yost...enjoy it.

Kevin Freiheit does a reasonable job, though he is pretty young and has a lot to learn still. His writing is about a thousand times more accurate, cohesive and informative. I mean, people knock Clouts and Barry all the time, but Garth is on a whole different plane...

I just turned 24 last October. I already got greys.

Granted I've had some grey hairs here and there since I was like...15.


Also, jeez. I never thought I was older than Yost. Even if only by 5 months.

Are they playing the games on TV for you? NHL network? Do you have to pay a subscription for that?

I moved to Boston on January 2nd, 2000. I ended up phoning TSN and crying over the phone to them - telling them a sports bar had told me that as long as I could tell them where to point their sattellite, they would put the final game on for me.

The guy at TSN laughed - claimed they got dozens of calls every year from Canadians asking the same thing. And no, it wasn't technologically possible.

Canada ended up with the bronze, though, so I didn't miss much.

NHL Network. I'm not paying a subscription fee for the network per se, but I do have DirecTV's Choice Xtra package, which is 2 tiers above their basic. It had that and a few other channels I wanted as well.

EDIT: according to DirecTV's website, NHL Network is no longer available with my current subscription. I'm not sure if I am grandfathered in or what.
