So..you are planning on finishing last for many years?
Habs might fight you for that spot. - ShafterBenRaide
You are talking like Grigo isn't a top notch prospect. He is NHL ready, hands down. And Toronto will be taking the bottom spot, as long as they believe in Reimer.

Well if you are a fan of Semin, then you will definitely be a fan of Grigo.
Having seen him play many times in Quebec, he is all talent and zero heart.
He was completely invisible against Canada and the USA. But at least he played well against the Swiss.

The whole Russian team barely showed up against Canada. Grigerenko actually was responsible for their only goal when he forechecked the Canadian defenseman and the loose puck slid to the wide open Russian winger for the goal.
Does anyone know if Armia has gotten a player of the game award this tournament? If so, that would mean all for of our prospects got one.
Also, if Russia beats Sweden, it will be a battle between Gibson and Makarov. - Hetfield
Looks like it'll be Vasilevski unless it's a high scoring game and Makarov comes in and wins it...
I like our guys a lot though
It would def be nice to see Grigorenko put in a couple more goals in these next 2 games
Armia has again been one of finland's best
I thought it was pretty cool McCabe was named captain (totally didn't expect that btw), but to see the way he stepped up in the first period in this HUGE game... How can any Sabres fan not like that?!
It appears we have the making of an absolutely killer defense for years to come!
Ehrhoff & Myers already locked up for about a decade
Brennan has been killing it in the AHL
I personally think McNabb will be even better than Myers
We already are witnessing what McCabe can do
Pysyk & Gauthier-Leduc are pretty good prospects as well
If McNabb & Myers can develop to become a top shutdown pair like I think,
We have a crazy amount of offensive talent lined up behind those two
Looks like Our defense will be set for the next 10+ years

I missed the game, and these highlights are in Russian, but it sounded like the whistle blew before the Canadian goal. Anyone watch the game who can 'splain?

The whistle blew and shouldn't have is the first thing of note. They then reviewed it and made the incorrect call in allowing the goal. I don't have a problem with it since they should have never blown the whistle.

Both teams showed up for that game. Both goalies were lights out. Grigorenko hasn't produced in this tournament. Lucky for him he's talented and a WJHC means nothing for him.
It could be worse, you could have drafted Nail Yakusuck.

Grigs played very well against the Swiss. Not that they are the best competition, but they almost lost that game. Garth very clearly overdoes the praise for him and it's a shame because now no one wants to give him any credit for anything. His shootout goal was very sick.

terible goaltending by Canada.. score should have been 1-0 or 2-0 USA.. Technically that goal shouldn't have counted the whistle was stupid/uncalled for but it almost looked like gibson gave up on the play when the whistle blew.. Either way i think they would have scored though.

That was the one part of the game that the US got outworked. If Canada didn't score there, they were going to score shortly after.
Now, I just hope that the US didn't treat this like their gold medal game and just come out flat on Saturday.
