I seriously doubt that. Not that they won't trade him for Galiardi but that his progression will be slow...
sources? - mayorofangrytown
Chiarelli is a damned good GM which, to me, means:
1. Don't think the Bruins would put Hamilton in a position where he's not progressing as they like. They'll be as patient as possible and use him where they think he can succeed.
2. Even if he did progress slowly, Chiarelli is the type to know patience is best with young d-men and not trade him for some second/third liner due to be a UFA in a year.
That being said, if Hamilton played for, say, the Oilers or Flames, I could certainly see the above trade scenario playing out. |

Ok. Rumblings are there are 2 "free" buyouts for every team. Idc about all the details just tell me this: what 2 players do the Flyers buyout? Pronger is one obvious one, but who's #2? Do we buyout Bryz? But then what happens to our goalie situation? And if we buyout Danny I will seriously flip out. The guy is the best playoff performer there is. |

I haven't watched him much, but from what I saw in his WJC games, his upside seems somewhere between Gustafsson and Timonen. Smooth skater, offensively gifted, and a cannon. But he's not that big; in the Russian game, he had Yakupov stopped dead in the slot, but Yak still got a shot off by powering it through him. While he can work on building strength, I don't think he'll have Keith's physical strength. I think he projects as best a strong #3 and PP point man. - jmatchett
I think I agree with you although I think he'll develop some strength. Honestly, I've just been looking for the quote and can't find it. |

why can't the NHL just have a system like the NFL when it comes to contracts? |

I was only half kidding. I don't think bryz will be bought out. Maybe after this season if he has a poor year. |

rule likely stipulates (like the NBA's) that bought out player cannot re-sign with team who bought him out. |

I said last night that the US worried me a lot because of their tender. I hope they beat Sweden and Canada beats the Russians. |

If he projects as you described, that would be great. I have no problem pairing an offensive minded D-man with a stay at home guy.

I was thinking Weber before Nashville matched :/
I agree it'd be nice to get another solid D man. Going to cost money though, and the cap is shrinking. - eayost
Losing out on Weber still kills me.. We needed a big splash to counter the Nash to Rangers move. I don't think we are a true contender until the D gets sorted out. I like the heavy hitters we now have but Timonen is getting older. If we had kept Carle, as much as people hated him, we'd be better off, but he got over paid IMO. |

Tell me you are being sarcastic.. lol
Pronger is a slam dunk. Bryz only makes sense if you plan to get another #1 guy immediately for cheaper. Don't see it happening. |
