No, I'm honestly dead serious. I think he's easily replaceable and I'd love to get out from under that deal. - OrangeBlack27
Ok, people keep saying easily replaceable but are not giving examples. Again, #1 goalies do not grow on trees and we have not drafted any so who? |

Yes, Ian Laperriere drew that comparison. - bmeltzer
Bill,
Other than myself, do you have any favorite posters? Either on this thread or the Dallas thread?
Slightly related - who are your favorite (if any) hockey journalists, excluding your own work.
Hope you have a prosperous and healthy NY.

there's a number of guys you could plug in short-term and even some longer-term options.

the way i see it: 1-2 years of one of those meh vets is better than seven more of bryz. i understand others see it differently. |

And misinformed as well.
- MBFlyerfan
Well he did make $300,000 more last season than any other goalie so I'd think you would find anyone else more cost efficient.
It's not like he dazzled on the ice. 23rd in GAA and 34th in SV%. I'd rather have Lou on a two year deal next season at 3 than choke on Bryz for the next 7. |

The term 'art' sure is subjective. In this case, it's more like spin art, or dubstep. - BulliesPhan87
It's an art if one can camouflage the act. Not so, here, though.

Have we considered just putting six forwards on the ice at all times? |

I see your point as well.. I just don't agree. I think Bryz is just fine, and we should see more March Bryz than the rest going forward. I just don't think stop gap vet to stop gap vet is wise nor is it Snider's mandate. |

Hahah.. I don't wanna check, but I can envision that guy sitting on a beach in Cuba all lockout drinking beer. He's prob as big as Byfuglien by now. lol
I know he's prob been playing in the A all year but it's not as fun as what I envision! |

You don't think Big Ed is face palming the whole Bryz signing? I'm sure that the move wasn't Holmgrens. Desperately begging and pleading and overpaying for what he felt was a number one isn't his style.
If you look at it, under the current circumstances, Bryz is not worth the risk. With the cap going down you can't be handcuffed with that contract going forward on the chance he performs. If he had a year or two left you could swallow it but not 7.
Think about it this way, could you trade him? You can't. There's a reason for that. NO ONE WANTS HIM! Especially at that number for those years.
Ride out this partial season then buy him out. There are plenty of average goalies out there you can get for a fraction of the coast. Plus you can trade for a prospect or wait for Stolarz. There are always prospects stuck in depth charts. |
