Were I an owner I'd lobby for no more pensions at all. Anyone who joins the league beginning this season doesn't get one. Honor the old ones and be done with it. It's an antiquated notion. - Scoob

If he can actually get a deal done similar to what we have been reading then he will have done a fantastic job for the players. |

I don't know what that is but I'd tell them to pound sand. We'll honor what has already been established. Going forward new guys are on their own. |

It's how much a player's salary can vary from year to year in a contract.
So for example, in the old CBA you could make $4 million one year and $2 million the next.
With a 30% variance, I believe it would be more like $4 million and then $2.8 million minimum. |

This all started with owners want to fix revenue sharing but in the end there (frank) all to help the struggling teams...
Well done Garry.... |

they lost half a year of salary, damaged the only profession they are good at, and have taken a hit in every category from the last CBA

Post of the year (ok - year is still young). I have no idea what they're askibpng for but I'd tell them to (frank) off. Another tough guy. |

If they signed the first offer from the league back in the fall they would have lost loads for years to come....They win in the long run..short term pain for long term gain...Get in the know.. |

1-Make it 7 years deals
2- if at 30% variance, should not be an issue for PA
3- Can't blame the league, let the players fund their pension, they are millionaires.
Still the issue of the salary cap next year, League will move to 63-64M
deal by next week - Symba007
Pension funding sounds like the last big hill - those other issues shouldn't stop them from getting back to business. Nice read from Shoalts ...
