yep! thanks. was back to playing hockey in 2 weeks! Jefferson Neuro is amazing. My doc is even going to come out to watch me play.
yeah I believe the die hards will be back for the most part but I do wonder about the average fan. Now that we have hockey I am back to being paranoid about the same issues....Flyers defense and their habit of trading away every draft pick they own - nastyflyergirl
Glad to hear it!
The way I see it, people read too much into the "casual fans" not coming back. Generally, a casual fan would be indifferent to a work stoppage and would watch when the league resumed. They won't be bitter (the one's who are bitter are usually die-hards anyway) so they most likely won't feel insulted by the NHL & NHLPA. I may be wrong in that analysis but I expect that most of the fans will return. Maybe not for the short season but for next year or the playoffs. |

I agree. Couturier has the tools to be a #3 like Jordan Staal. But, hard to think Couturier would not be #2 on this team by next year. You cannot teach size down the middle. Saw one game ladr year in Ottawa. Giroux could not handle Spezza's size. Couturier played Spezza even. I was really impressed. Flyers need the size. - spatso
I would not be amazed in the least if the Flyers use an amnesty buyout on Danny Briere and install Couturier in a much more offensive role. Even if he's the 3rd center, behind Schenn and Giroux, he's going to see a more expanded offensive role |

Couts for Subban? - Philly1980
No, because true shutdown centers are pretty tough to find, and I think Couturier has Selke Trophies in his future as well as 20+ goal seasons. But I would do B. Schenn (reluctantly).

Couturier could easily be given a role similar to that of Jordan Staal while he was in Pittsburgh. Couturier could get more ice time than Staal as well given that he won't have Crosby AND Malkin ahead of him. |

I guess the argument boils down to who is better/has more potential...Couts or Schenn.... |

True enough. I think Couturier is immediately behind Giroux when it comes down to untouchables |

Because he's fast, a very good puck mover, plays with an edge and drives opposing players nuts and could be an all star caliber defenseman for many years to come. |

I'm with you there. You'd have to blow me away for me to move Couts. I think that's what the Flyers are thinking as well. |

Bill, any worry that playing top line minutes in the KHL combined with a compressed schedule will have Fedotenko worn down by season's end? |

I'm sure he's the name that gets the most mention when teams call Homer. Thank God for mono or he'd never have dropped to 8 |

I was drooling when he was still on the board. I knew they needed a defenseman but Dougie Hamilton didn't impress me & Couts was the top prospect early on. Had to draft best available and we're all happy they did. |

Subban is what 22? You have to expect some growing pains. Issues with the refs wouldn't come into play in my opinion on him as a player. - MJL
Oh, I understand he's young and that he has potential. And he's only been in the league for 2 seasons. I've just seen too many deficiencies to overcome to see him as a player I'd move Coots for. Personal view. |

I was thinking the same thing. Wouldn't be terrible to suck this year given how many good prospects there are in the draft. I'd love to have a shot at Seth Jones. Doubt they'll be that bad though. |

I seriously doubt that has anything to do with physical play. Spezza may be the softest player in the NHL. Giroux has plenty of grit, but just isn't a good defensive forward. Where as Couturier is already capable of checking any forward in the NHL. |

I think that depends on what your looking for. I think both have a lot of potential but in different areas. |

@mirtle Wow - hearing ratification process and legal work on CBA may take a while. Could even be five or six more days.

1C - Giroux
2C - Couturier
3C - Schenn
How's that look? Obviously G gets the most ice time, bump Coots to more minutes on the second line, drop Schenn in as the 3rd line centre. I can see Coots putting up 20+ goals in that role, Schenn 15-20 in his role. This is somewhat similar to having Briere-Carter-Richards, but I think better overall. |
