The Rangers are the team that really scare me. I don't see us competing with them in the East unless we upgrade our D. - Hextall271
Me too. But there is 1) always a chance in the playoffs to get hot and 2) we may avoid them in the playoffs.
Overall, they are a better team. I think anyone else, we can compete with.
Bruins, simply b/c of Chara, also scare me. Dude reminds me of Andre the Giant. The guy can't be beaten down.

Well, if Briere is out, or if/when we get another injured forward, who do you see as a better call-up? - jmatchett
Knuble wouldn't be a call up. He'd be a player that would be with the team for the rest of the Season. There is no player that can replace Briere. It's short term so other players take up the slack for that time period that he's out. |

Michael Barkin and the CSN LIve crew are even worse. During the time they alotted yesterday in discussing the Flyers ( actually had a live interview with Homer) the highlight clips were all goals against Bryz. Not one save. Not the amazing save vs LeTang in game 1 last year. They are NEVER positive when they discuss Brzy, its a goddamn disgrace - KINGKENZO
Angelo already said this morning he can't wait to start ripping Bryz again. I think his feelings were pretty hurt when Bryz asked the media to leave him alone and without Reid as his crutch, he needs someone new to lean on. |

Yeah, I shouldn't have said "call-up." I realize that, as a veteran, he'd be with the team as a 12th/13th forward. I''d just feel more comfortable with him out there as opposed to a guy like McGinn/Akeson if need be. Also feel he can offer more (aside from fighting) than Shelley. But I can understand wanting to give some of the young guys a shot, at the same time.[/img] |

barkann has become a clown. he's just a caricature. it's embarrassing to see/hear. he is unbearable on tv and radio. his approach to, uh, journalism, is honestly pathetic and reprehensible. - OrangeBlack27
I never used to mind him as a host, but once he started sharing his opinions he lost me. He's about the show, not the information he gives. His radio sow with Ike Reese pushed me past the point of no return. |

I feel like its gotten to the point that even if Bryz goes out and wins the Vezina, Cataldi will still feel the need to hate and rip him. What scares me is that people actually listen to him. |

This picture is at least 6 months old and probably not indicative of his current game "shape". - bradleyc4
It amazes me that pro athletes allow themselves to get out of shape at any time, even the offseason. |

No more re-entry waivers
This is a boon for depth/role players who used to have to sign deals for $105,000 to have a shot at playing in the NHL. Now they can sign for much higher and not have to worry about passing through re-entry waivers. |

I'm not again acquiring Gonchar only because it is a half season and it shouldn't cost much much to get him. However, he's far from my first choice. I know I'm gonna hear it but I would rather take a risk on Bouwmeester, who also isn't what I want either but because we only really need a Carle placement and I do believe in our D for the most part, I would be okay with Bouwmeester for a season and a half. |

I love Bouwmeester and would love to add him to the team. But with the cap going down next year, it's probably not feasible. |

Yep. Also, no more burying of Matt Walker in the AHL. |

You can still send him down, but would have to carry a portion of his contract on the cap. |

Just for conversation purposes, any interest in Redden for 1/2 his cap hit? With teams allowed to absorb half of a cap hit in trade, and the Rangers having his full cap hit now, they may look to do what they can. Doubt it would happen, but Redden at a $3.25 cap hit for 2 years (I think)? |
