? I thought he was quoted as saying he was going to fast track a rebuild or something similar to that. Which is what he tried to do with the Kessel trade.
- woopstash

Nope, the Kessel trade made it seem that way, but he was on losing bad contracts and building with prospects and draft picks. Yes he gave up for Kessel, but the kid is still young and can put the puck in the net, supporting players are being developed.
Considering the mess he walked into, he actually has done allot for the future.

I call bullpoop, he said he could have it done in three years.

Show me where he said that, Not saying you're wrong, just don't remember that as the main objective.

Just google Burke + Fast Track. Seems to be pretty common knowledge that that's what he tried to do in his first year or two in Toronto.

I could google Burke and Homo and get a fictional story too.

I believe he said he would have the team on the right track in two to three years, and said things can't be fixed overnight, it will take time.
I think they are on track, but far from winning.

I know you were just being sarcastic with a splice of a joke, meaning no harm, but probably not the best way to put it considering his son. Just saying it wouldnt be fictional. Pretty sad story to be quite honest. Heads up for future reference, thats all!

"Such was the risk when Burke decided a fast-track rebuild was the appropriate blueprint for the Leafs."

"Burke's well-earned reputation in Vancouver and Anaheim may now be in jeopardy as early as next season, and it rests with an unorthodox plan to fast-track the Leafs' rebuild..."

"Burke lacked the patience to build and tryed to fast track a rebuild..."

I really dont get what the Flames are doing either. My best guess is that they are going all in now before Iggy and Kipper retire or want out. Being reactive instead of proactive is a poor game plan.
- Gunslinger

I'd they are going all out for they really shouldn't have followed the old leafs blue print it doesn't work out

I see what you're doing, media always labels things as such, by looking at the current line up, other than 2 questionable guys, how does this team resemble anything to be considered a fast track rebuild?
No superstars, no #1 goalie, no big contracts handed out by Burke.
If he is trying to fast track things, than yes, I agree, he failed. Just doesn't look like that on paper to me.

I remember Burke talking about it frequently not wanting to normal rebuild and that he want to do it in three years not five

I believe he said and did it too. That said, he has mercifully changed his ways the past couple of seasons.
