Just an opinion, but Josh Bailey would be good on any other team but the isles. - kindlyrick

Islanders should release the draft party date before the schedule. |

Whose to say they would want Nielsen? According to you hes an expendable 3rd liner whose peaking and doesn't bring much.
And BTW the corps of centers they have are a few years away from being legitimate as well. - JTMM9126
read Jethros comment above....id be repeating exactly what he said if i typed it up myself. |

Again my opinion, but i think Josh Bailey hasnt even begun to tap into his potential. He's been misused, and i feel on a better team, with more NHL ready talent, and not as many "what ifs", i think Bailey shines. |

Okay. I hope you're right. I hope he hasn't begun to tap into his potential. But he's been a pro for 4 years. What is he waiting for? This has got to be the last shot for Bailey with this club. If he doesn't score goals and put up points this season, the team needs to move on from him. 4 1/2 seasons is enough time for the Isles to allow him to tap into his potential on their watch and dime. |

I would hire this guy to run my team in a minute.....Toronto was an aberration for him, guaranteed. Toronto is an aberration for everyone, because they still try to build a team the way the big money franchises used to build them before the LAST work stoppage (let's just go and sign everyone who is still alive), and that doesn't work anymore. Once he's back in a sane situation, he'll have success again. Of course, we won't hire him for obvious reasons, and no, "we already have a GM," is not one of the reasons I'm thinking of.... |

We've had the Bailey discussion for years now. You dont draft a kid who was a standout in juniors, rush him, and then stick him on the wing of the 3rd line, when he was a first line center. Perhaps that could be why 4.5 years later he's still not hit his stride. I've seen flashes of this kid.......its there. He's got legit talent.

The clash of his ego with Charles Wang's would create another Big Bang. He'd make Neil Smith's tenure here look like long-term job security. |

So now Brian Burke is the bar and standard We are looking to achieve. Why b/c kessel was such a great trade? Yeah.. trading the number 2 (Tyler Seguin) pick and a top 5 (Doug Hamilton) in consectutive drafts is just what we need. Toronto has been sooooooo much better than the Islanders. At least we have not pulled a Milbury/Burke and trade our future. |

The weird thing is that Burke started out trying to win right away, and then the last few years was rebuilding.......trading away guys like Kaberle and Versteeg. Im curious as to why he was just now let go. Something happened.... |
