There are a few I would be interested to see get a camp invite.. not saying just outright signed, but to see what they have to offer. - jak521
Commodore and Martinek have reportedly been invited to the Habs & Isles camps, respectively.
I had mentioned Jones & Campoli before, as well as Paul Ranger. Ranger reportedly is only interested in staying in Toronto, though-currently playing well for the Marlies |

Could make things interesting, I'd imagine they'll have the draft them free agency that following Monday just so they aren't at the same time. - ob18
this could be the first playoff in history (or since the last 48 game season) where the NHL hopes for 4 game sweeps |

Media have been guessing early April, like the 3rd or 4th - Jsaquella
Interesting. Doesn't leave alot of time to gel with new teamates before the big dance. |

Thank you. The support of my readers is what kept me going during the interminable lockout. I hope everyone knows that I mean that from the bottom of my heart, and it's not just a platitude. - bmeltzer
On the flipside, it is your dedication and fantastic work that kept your readers going during the lockout! |

Short season, anything can happen. A rash of injuries can derail any teams playoff chances. A 5 game losing streak in a 48 game schedule can cripple a team. - PLindbergh31

It appears the "cap advantage recapture" penalties will not apply to teams who traded long-term contracts prior to the new CBA. |

Forgetting that in most sports, defense wins games. Even the great Tom Brady (and he may be the best ever) has had trouble getting his team over the hump with a less than stellar D. P Manning has one SB.
Meanwhile, the Giants win 2 SB's in recent times.
Hockey - look at the imporance of LA's goaltending. Bruins - Chara/Thomas.
I think the Pens as a favorite is a bit of a joke.

I think a lot of teams have a chance in a shortened season. Too much can go right or wrong in a short season. Not a lot of time to right the ship if things go downhill. |
