How would it make a ton of sense? Trade one goalie with question marks for another with question marks AND a higher cap hit?

Flyers need D first and foremost and Homer knows that. Not to mention keeping cap room open to re-sign Giroux, Couturier and B Schenn. That said, I dont doubt he kicked the tires on this to see if there was some sort home run deal he could execute.

The Question marks on Luongo are not on the same level as Bryz....ask yourself a question.....If Bryz is bought out, who do the Flyers have ? Leighton?
yes they need D...no arguement there. But if your goalie Blows then, you can add the D you want and it won't matter.

I'm not sure all that a buyout entails... But, I think it would be to much to do this year. With the new agreement, it could be possible next year.

Homer probably called Van, and said how about swapping Bryz for Luongo. And, they said no. If there was some interest, Homer could have thrown in some picks.

The deal, may not have been such a bad deal for either side. If Van really wants to dump him, and can't get rid of him... Bryz for Luongo might be an option. Van is still stuck with a goal who's play is up and down. The cap hits are similar, with fewer years on Bryz's salary (less money for a buyout next year). The Flyers get a better goalie with a real shaky playoff record.

I just think it comes down to that the Flyers have no fall back position if Bryz falters again and is Bought out....why not kick the tires.

the best way to fleece TO is to make them think one of their close rivals is in on the goalie that they crave.
Flyers interested in Lou? I doubt it, but it would worry the Leafs to lose out.
The only team that would be worse for TO is if he went to Ottawa

which GM would NOT have at least called to ask " what do you want from us for ........?"
its like the lottery, you can never win if you don't buy a ticket, you never know what the other gm might be thinking

Ummm...Philly isn't that close of a rival to Toronto...
The ONLY team that would be worse is Ottawa? Ottawa, Montreal, Boston, Buffalo are all bigger rivals to Toronto than Philly...It's not like the Leafs need the goaltending to put them over the top as a contender, and its do or die if the don't get Luongo...Toronto is a bottom team, getting Luongo may push them enough to get into the playoffs but that is it...
If Philly put in a bigger offer for Lu than the Leafs, I don't think the Leafs would up their offer to get him...

Also, is anyone familiar with John Shannon from Sportsnet? It was reported yesterday that he says the Lu will be a Leaf by Sunday and the trade is Lu for Bozak and Kadri...which I would be fine with...Gardiner better not be involved in ANY deal...

I'm thinking of getting one of these.

Just got one of these for Christmas for the family as we had to put our 10 year old Boxer to sleep 2 weeks before and we were sad. Never thought it would be so hard to do. Our Shepherd isn't a King Shepherd but he's gonna be pretty big and he a good looking dog. Just make sure you get him lots of chew toys as a puppy because he's nipping and chewing everything right now.

Not a chance obviously, He's staying in Vancouver unless Toronto or Tampa gets in play
