Oh, they'll be plenty of ankle injuries around here come the end of February when the Flyers are in 12th place. - mayorofangrytown
There's a few already out on the ledge with the Briere injury. |

I know what you mean. I think we'll see his true colors after this year. Usually guys who sign big deals to play elsewhere, especially going from Phoenix to Philly (both in terms of media & on-ice system), have an adjustment period that 1st season. - NickTheKid87
I totally agree. I normally dont agree with Flyers media like panotch cause he doesnt know what he is talking about, however I agree that I think Bryz had trouble adjusting and this is the year to judge him on, which again is another reason this Luongo business is hilarious. However, the 3 way trade makes more sense but wont happen |

From what I've been hearing, they open at home vs. Pittsburgh in a 3 PM Saturday game (NBC broadcast) and then will have a road game in Buffalo on Sunday afternoon (Sabres opener).
The Pitt opener is 100 percent confirmed first-hand. Game two is via secondary sources. - bmeltzer
If the Flyers are going to open at 3pm on the 19th, it's going to be cutting it close for the 7pm start time for the Penn State - Vermont game that night. |

3 hours would be a long game. But cars leaving and cars arriving would be a nightmare that tight. |

Yeah, it's easy for the media to blame Bryzgalov's faults on his weaknesses and call him a "bad goalie" and such but that doesn't tell the whole picture. Philly media will eat you alive at the first sign of faltering, as will a lot of fans. I don't think Bryz realized this - even if everyone knows what it's like - until he actually experience the reality of it. Couple that with switching to an almost polar opposite system as well as new teammates and coaches (sprinkle in injury here or there too) and you get a recipe for big time failure. Hopefully he's comfortable and adjusted now. He started to look like it by the end of last season. |

They gotta get everyone out and clean it up reasonably plus get the college players situated and then get all the college fans in. Game's on NBC too which doesn't help make it any shorter. |

They're considering moving the Penn State game back an hour or two. |

Selfishly, I'd like them to move the PSU game to Sunday so that I could get to both games with my son. I don't think my 6 YO will sit through 2 entire games in one day and in one sitting.
I would. But I don't think he would want to. |

That would be the ultimate nightmare. Getting thousands of cars out of parking lots and then getting thousands in. |

i think the schenn for jvr trade was one of the more even pure hockey trades from both sides in a while. yeah jvr may have the higher ceiling, but as an offensive player that is often easier to do than a solid stay at home defenseman type. there are more than enough offensive guys on the team to make up for it. you guys trading from a position of strength to help shore up an area that was lacking a bit. |

Spent the end of a show talking Philly buying out Bryzgalof on the Fan Toronto. They don't know anything but it's interesting that Toronto is talking about it. So it's not just in Philly folks! |

I started taking my son to double headers when he was 4. Phantoms and Flyers. Those were the days. We even caught a high school girls game between the two once. He loved it. Of course I can't get him off the ice today. |

When JVR scores 50 goals and Schenn is still the fourth Defenseman on the Flyers or has been traded again I'll call you and we'll have beers. Many Beers. But not in Pittsburgh. |

Not in the GTA on that station. You think Philly media is tough on the Flyers... pfffft. Those guys destroy everyone who had anything to do with the Leafs daily. Right now only Scottie Upshaw gets a break there. |

yeah. I hate going to Reading and Trenton is too far for me to travel to see the ECHL. Hershey and Scranton are too far to just pick up on a weekend and go.

haha it would be dumb of me to say that is not a possibility. however, right now, jvr hasnt shown anything close to that (other than that one series in the playoffs where he dominated). this was pretty much a trade based off of potential for both sides. at the very least, i admire holmgren for making the move, as opposed to some GMs who refuse to part with anything and somehow expect blue chip prospects to float their way in return. |
