With Holmstrom out, Laughton on a 5-game max trial, Talbot stinking on faceoffs, Briere out for the start, and absolutely no depth on the Phantoms at C, I'd say yeah, chances are pretty good Fedotenko's going to get stuck in the middle at some point.

Matt Read can also play center. Brayden Schenn was flip flopping with Briere at center, on the same line at the end of last season/playoffs. I could very well be wrong but we still have options to play center.

Fedetenko can play Center. I beleive he might have been playing Center over in Europe.

Sounds like even more of a reason to play Rusty with Couturier. Couturier was fantastic against Malkin in the playoffs.

The one issue with Fedotenko playing 4th line center is that he's never been a full time center in the NHL, so we can be sure how he'd adjust or if he'd be able to sustain the level of play for a full season.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jesse Winchester get invited to camp, assuming he is fully healthy. He only played 32 games last year, but has decent size and has been a good faceoff man, winning between 53 & 55% of his draws over each of the last 3 seasons

I agree with Bill's take. I would not trade Couturier for Subban, but I would probably, reluctantly, give up Brayden Schenn in a deal to land him.

There's a rumor that PK re-signed with the Habs, 4 years $22mm, but unconfirmed...and no major reporter is reporting it yet
