silver lining with the shortened season is that we see less of him.

You can add on the probable training camp injury.

maybe he's not even unhappy and a reporter just asked a question about an issue that's pretty emotional and still pretty raw.

I don't get it. when did Eric Cole become a bad guy?

I don't get why people are upset. Many were happy when Habs signed him, but said 4 years was too long.
Well, if he retires before the end of his contract, these same people should be happy no???

And I'll tell you something else, if all players were giving 110% every game like Cole did last year, they too would think retirement at 35...

Ya I was joking. I'm looking forward to some hockey. Reflecting on the BS drama that seems to accompany this team in season more than anything.

I do too.

Although the one thing I'll add is his comment, to me, shows a total disconnect from reality. The whoa is me attitude is ridiculous.

I just question his level of interest in the upcoming season. If his mind is halfway into retirement, it might be a problem.

Also, I would be really surprised if the guy leaves 8M$ on the table

I agree and I'd also be pissed if I was signed to a contract that was partially reneged on a year later as well, especially after a season like last year. Having said that I hate when players air this poop publically.
- Pie

Not to mention, he's been getting paid while his team mates haven't been.

I could see him losing some respect in the dressing room, and also with his fellow PA members.

I'm not worried, he'll play hard, he's a pro. But if he doesn't, that's just a better chance at a good pick no? We'll suck, so better crash another year or two. For the same reason I'd trade Markov and Kaberle right now if possible. Get some picks, plays the kids.
