Del Zotto should be comparable. He'd fetch more on the open market though and likely took a cut in pay or term to stick with what should be a contender to win it all. Subban has MTL over a barrel to a degree although how much of that is his agent or him I don't know. I suspect he'll come in around 3.5-4/ 4.

As for Subban, he might me the habs #1 D (which shows how much our D sucks) and can use other dmen for comparables but there are also internal comparables and for the habs, it's Carey Price.

Nobody deserves to get paid more than Price right now and Price had a 2 year 5.5M second deal.

Subban does not deserve more.
