agreed...i would have liked him as well..
do you think it would have quieted the haters? - LetsGoIsles
not a bit. I don't know why PK subban has been such a flashpoint for these forums, he's a young D who's a bit of a headcase who scored 10 less points than streit in an average year.
I'm interested in hickey, and while he has only played in the ahl and couldn't crack the king's lineup, that lineup was also strong enough for them to trade jack johnson and not miss a beat. The kid could step in and help us, or will help the farm and he's only 23.
as far as trading for Subban, if montreal can't sign him I don't like our chances. If he comes signed to a contract then yes, if not, I'm not sure what he's asking for and it may be above our price tag. |

Affects their cap hit I would gather? - Cptmjl
Whether they buy them out now, or at the end of the season, their salaries count against the cap this year......thats why im confused. |

Question is, whats the advantage for the Habs and the Rags to buyout those guys now, as opposed to the end of the season? Im not sure i see one.. - kindlyrick
Its more for the players to be able to play this year without being sent home instead. Teams gain no advantage |

I'll take it a step further. He also said he wanted players that wanted to be here and would be proud to wear our uniform. - Cptmjl
Trust me most of the guys who put on the sweater say to themselves this is my last chance at the NHL if I dont make it here then forget it I am done. Players usually come here to redo there career or to see if they are NHL ready and die |

PK Subban plays the body, where as Streit does not. PK is an all around better dman than ANYONE (streit included) on our club.

The longer Benn and Subban hold out the better it is for other teams that might want to make an offer for them.
The players hold all the cards on this one!!!
Either pay me or trade me... - jimmc7722
Benn would be a damn good acquisition. You guys want to hear me applaud Snow for actually doing something? Make it happen |

"If" he ends up reporting, would you want him in your lockeroom? To me, he's a distraction even if he ends up reporting. No one man should be bigger than the team......the damage is done. - kindlyrick
at the end of the day, i think id be ok with him being in the locker room. if he reports, you can take it to the bank the players will hold a grudge but ALL will be forgotten (from most players) if the guy performs, and we all know he can perform. hed instantly make our D corp a lot better and would log top 4 minutes.
its a distraction but i think he could play himself out of this mess. |

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess you didn't think Rolston or Pandalfo were great additions either? |

Honestly wasn't looking for it, stumbled across it. Make fun all you want but that same Mark Fistric is better(by a wide margin)then 98% of the Isles D corp. That's even including Snow's great recent pick ups. Get a grip bud. - Cptmjl
I was watching the NHL Channel's preview show and they were talking about the Fistric trade. they should a highlight of him versus ironically the Islanders. In the clip he flattened Okposo...the guy can hit...so he might be a good addition for Edmonton. Speaking of Edmonton, all their top picks are up with the big team and ours aren't... |
