Saw this on the Toronto blog...maybe the Islanders should think of doing this...
Instead of Toronto packaging two or three young assets to acquire a veteran goalie who is on the downward slope of his career, trading that same package for a young stud like Benn or O’Reilly is a more prudent move that could have a greater long term benefit. - kear20
Benn would be a perfect fit for this club. With that said it will never happen |

would like either of them also,
but there is no way Strome or Reinhart be a part of deal
Isles would move other prospects 1st before those 2, even trying to move NHL talent in a package with some prospects.
my list of trade bait; Bailey, Okoposo, Grabner, A-mac, Kabanov, DeHaan, Pedan, Ullstrom, Joennso, etc - Ur Not Me
None of who u mentioned would be near enough for Ben or subban. Even if you packaged every person you mentioned it wouldn't be enough. |

Agreed...you need to give up either Strome (for Benn) plus some other players/prospects/picks or Reinhardt (for Suppan) plus some other players/prospects/picks...anything else...forget about it...my gut it would be like for Benn- Okposo, Strome and a 1st rd pick; For Suppan- Reinhardt, Hamonic and 1st rd pick...would hate to give up Hamonic but I'm sure Montreal would want a top 4 d-man in return and I think hamonic is about l we have....after looking at both...the Benn trade is the better one for the Islanders because they aren't giving up as much because Benn is better than both Okposo and Strome and he is only 23 so it will make up for the loss of Strome...and that might not be enough... |

I say we trade DP. With his Balls of Steel I am sure we can attract Benn |

1) Not a condensed schedule... 2 extra games over the 98 day season or whatever it is, is not condensed.
2) Isles are not ever going to buyout DiPietro... Unless the Isles get really good and Wang is spending near the top of the salary cap and the Isles nees the room. (4.5 million for a guy who the owner/GM love and not to mention does all the charity work and is a face for organization, isnt aweful... Plus he gets us to the floor.)
3) Snow needs to bring up Nino... Already wasted him last year so why isn't he on the team right now.
4) I know its training camp but why is Strome skating on the 4th line? If thats where he is going to play then send him back to Juniors... Otherwise he should be no lower then the 2nd line at any time. (Same with Nino.) |

You're joking right? Also JT is the face of this franchise not some broken down piece of shat - Vukota
Obviously JT "IS" the face of the franchise but DP was the old face and Id rather have the Owner/GM us DP and let JT worry about improving his game and what goes on, on the ice.
Ive met DP, he may be broken down from the steriods he used during the last lock-out but he certainly isnt a peice of poop... One of the nicest guys I have ever met and he cares, hence why he hasnt retired and hasnt given up. |

That's great and all if this was the Lifetime channel but I care about wins and loses not how nice of a guy somebody is. Give me a douchebag who can stop the puck over a Mr. Rodgers who couldn't stop a beach ball |

Actually, I dont own an Isles jersey with name on the back but I do own 3 jerseys... Love how judgemental everyone is. Im a die-hard fan just as you are. Would I be heartbroken if they buy Dp contract out... No. Will they, I dont think they will. Just tired of reading about you guysfemale doging about his contract. Move on from it... |

I'm sure he's a great guy but I still don't want him playing for this team any longer. Like the steroids reference |
