#Isles suspend J. Bailey and J. Joensuu as they were injured playing overseas. Suspension will be lifted when both pass physicals.

Does anyone know the significance of the injuries they suffered? If they're minor this is a ridiculous way of saving a few bucks.

I kind of feel the same way but its just par for the course with this team. They are so worried about money but they won't buy out the chump pretending to be a goalie. I'm curious if any other teams did the same thing. My guess would be no

I don't think any other players came back injured. Some may have gotten dinged up overseas, but they didn't show up at camp hurt.

The Isles said both players will be reinstated once they pass their physicals, which in Bailey's case could be a while. They all had to carry insurance to play in Europe, to cover their contracts in the event of Long term injury. Seems this should be covered in some way - better question....do they get "back-pay" once they pass physicals or are they forefeitting the paychecks?
Either way, nice job Garth, keeping the "family" atmosphere at a high level. Should make Josh really feel good about himself and help put a boost in his play when he returns. Not like he's bursting with confidence and swagger, jackarse.

Anyone who thinks we we should get redden knows nothing about hockey

Hickey could be this years steal.

Why are people made at Garth for being in yr 5 of rebuilding any not trading. Did pens or Blackhawks make big trades to win there cups? No. They drafted built team then when time was right they added some missing pieces thru free agency.
Edm has been rebuilding longer than we have. And edm fans are super excited. Why. U need to see the forest for the trees. Toronto makes trades every year and hasn't won a cup in 45 years and missed playoffs since 2004. And that's in one of biggest hockey cities in NHL.

This team will excel when last link to old guard is gone. That buying out dp. They should sit him out this season like habs are doing with Gomez and buy him out. B/c under new CBA. If he gets hurt, u can't buy out injured player. Who here thinks dp won't get hurt? No I.

Unfortunately I don't think that will change with Brooklyn? Wang and Snow are just who they are no matter what excuses make for these guys and their behaviour. What you see is what you get. As far as this I can see both sides as far as what little I know about the rules involving the whole thing.

First off Redden is gonna go to another NHL team, real good chance its Boston. If we could sign him we would be real lucky.

(You must have missed that Redden & Gomez most likely are being bought out THIS year.. before the start of the season.... free agents)

Why would another KHL team release their player so their rival can get better????
