What makes Sekera so special? nobody on this team should be untouchable especially I guy like him.

I don't think Sekera will be moved. He is better than most people give him credit for. If anything I think we would move Leopold, Weber, Brennan or Regehr. (no particular order)

He played with Roy the season when he put up those 84 points. He played with Roy a lot after we lost Drury and Briere as well.

This excuse of playmaking center is garbage. Vanek is Vanek's own worst enemy. He doesnt play consistently. He takes nights off. He is often out of shape and cant last an entire season.

Tired of the "takes a beating in front of the net" cliche too. The hacking in front of the net in todays NHL is nothing like it was prior to and including the early 90's.

Yea I agree, the excuses for Vanek's inconsistency are lame. If people are going to complain about Miller's contract and make the excuse that Vanek was forced into signing by Edmonton, it doesnt matter, he is still 1 of the highest paid wingers in the NHL and he falls off regularly for a good 15-25 games annually

he is very good, and then for a long stretch he is very bad. When he is not scoring he is one of our worst forwards, he takes dumb penalties consistently, is not defensively strong, and is just plain frustrating to watch. when he is on he is a super star.

I just think that if you are a contender, Vanek can't be your best goal scorer. He's not a 40 goal scorer anymore. He got outscored by Pominville (actually just outplayed) and he was invisible during our best stretch of the season last year, that tells me he is not vital to our success

The only problem that should be about Vanek is the amount of money he makes. He plays a hard game in front of the net. The way that he got the money and how much he makes leaves a sour taste in peoples mouths. I'm fine with his play, hard to grasp he makes north of $7M.
