The only problem that should be about Vanek is the amount of money he makes. He plays a hard game in front of the net. The way that he got the money and how much he makes leaves a sour taste in peoples mouths. I'm fine with his play, hard to grasp he makes north of $7M.

I just think that if you are a contender, Vanek can't be your best goal scorer. He's not a 40 goal scorer anymore. He got outscored by Pominville (actually just outplayed) and he was invisible during our best stretch of the season last year, that tells me he is not vital to our success

If you are a contender, you need a player like Vanek. Who on this team will go to the net? Stafford- nope, Gerbe- please, Leino-lol, Pommer-not his game. Foligno is the only other player to stay in front of the net and his resume is far from complete to displace Vanek. If anything, Ruff should utilize the fact that Vanek has a really good slapshot and play him at the point with a big body like Foligno in front.

I remember years ago when we had arguments about who had the worst contract on the team. I was one of like 3 people who said Vanek. Mostly everyone was calling Pommer overpaid. I compared him to other players in the league and basically proved that $5M should get you 20G and 60P. Consistently, Pommer has given that and has lived up to that contract. Wasnt until last season that the majority of people here finally warmed up to him.

Vanek shouldnt be on a team like the Sabres. Doesnt fit this system anymore. I think he despises Lindy. Should have let him walk to Edmonton for the four 1st rounders. We wouldve been slightly worse than we finished and probably looking at 2 top 10 picks for 4 years. What could have been.

Most people see that 7 million dollar salary(thanks Edmonton) and judge him based on that.

Agreed....Pommer gives you fair production and plays all facets of the game well. I would argue he give much better bang for the buck

Unfortunately sports are continuously making it impossible for a low income or even middle income household to attend a game. The cost of taking a family of 4 is insane. Do I blame teams for the cost of tickets....no, it's a business, but where will it be 5 years from now, $150 a ticket for 300 level?

I'm in a group that has seasons. Usually it's divided by 4, but one guy wanted out so we had to divide his up. Got a different friend to take half of the quarter we needed to replace and then I split the other half of that quarter with the guy that runs the group for us. So altogether, I get 15 tickets for the games this year. The two of us that put in the extra money will probably be selling 3-4 of our games.

I know you can't compare Nashville to buffalo as far as ticket prices but $35 for a 300 level ticket here....

Actually, it's the people who buy tickets at the low prices and then turn around and sell them just to make a profit. They have no actual intention of going to the game. I think it's ridiculous.

I'll admit as a season ticket holder that I've sold some tickets, but I go to most of the games.

Right on! That is why I love the bisons, cheap for the family and usually a promo running. I love the Bills but I would trade them straight up for a pro ball club anyday.

I have 6 children 3 boys and 3 girls.

I could never afford 8 tickets , I mean I could but your talking .

That's why I only bought 2 tickets for my wife and I.

We have that buffoon Larry Quinn and Tom Galissano to blame for Vanek's contract. If they had not botched the Brier and Drury negotiations so bad . We would not have been so vulnerable and had to take the Vanek contract . I like Vanek . I would like him a lot more at 5 million a year.

If I didn't live in Alfred I would have tickets.. But driving an hour and a half everyother day would be hard.. Gas prices
