b's really have three #2 lines and one #3 line. fine by me. matchup nightmares.

i don't hate buffalo. you can't hate something that invokes massive amounts of pity. pittsburgh is another crappy, depressing town but at least the yinzers have had sports success over the years to take away the pain of living in a place more fit for siberia. no surprise malkin feels so at home.

envy, however, invokes hate and pound for pound, you can't be any more envious than the hub.

hey guys wanna troll the next Sabres thread and really razz them?

Just so you know when the Bruins were down for a few years a few years ago, I felt bad for them and their fans.

I dont 'hate on the Bruins'.

- BuffaloHardHat

your opinion, one way or the other, is of no consequence.

simply don't care.

My biggest concern with the Bruins is their lack of depth on D. Their top 6 defenseman include older guys (Chara, Seidenberg), injury prone guys (Ference and, to a lesser degree, McQuaid), and a rookie (Hamilton). In a short season injuries are likely to occur and the depth will be tested. I don't think I'd be comfortable with either Aaron Johnson or Torey Krug playing major minutes for this team while they're fighting to win a division.

I think the Bruins need to go get another NHL-capable defenseman to serve in that 7th role. Wade Redden could be a possibility. So could Theo Peckham in Edmonton if he got healthy. Really, the Bruins need a Shane Hnidy/Steve Montador/Greg Zanon type who can come in, if pressed into action, and be decent on the third pairing.

Any other thoughts on this or who they could acquire?

- big_dion

to start: lucic, horton, krejci.

it could very well end up being the seguin, marchand, bergeron line though. depends on seguin.

Thats why I said lack of depth on defense and no Thomas may lead to a long year for the Bruins. You dont win this year because of what you did last year.

You still have to play the games.

I should probably clarify one thing....while I think the defensive depth is a concern, most teams would kill to have their 7th defenseman be their biggest problems....including every other team in the division.

I think this is a potential issue and one that should be addressed now by Chiarelli. By no means do I think it prevents them from having a successful year. Every team will struggle with depth issues in the condensed season.

And everyone keeps telling me I am nuts that the Bruins will be lucky enough to just make 8th place this year in the East because of goaltender problems and head case Rask.

Rask is NOT Thomas and has yet to prove he can handle '#1 duties'.

I think Bruin fan is in for a long season and by the trade deadline Bruin fan will be screaming for Timmy to come back or a trade for another goaltender.

Just the mere fact Rask is not Thomas should tell you Bruins fans that this may be 'a grind' of a season.

There is no solid footing to think Rask can play better than one of the NHL's best in Thomas. Just saying that score does not surprise me at all really looking at their goaltending situation.

Not trying to stir up poop , just trying to be logical about it.

Oh yes, casue of 1 one meaningless scrimmage. Throw the whole season out! Sabers cup! MORON!

chia will probably wait till the deadline for #7 even though young master dougie will experience some growing pains (still better than defenseless joe corvo). quaider missing the playoffs and a gimpy boychuk really hurt last year.

buds fan asking for the b's #1 scoring line? hee hee.

The Sabres only managed to score 2 goals between both teams in their scrimmage (1-1 tie after OT). I think a lack of depth at offense is going to make it a tough year for the Sabres, who seemed to think it was more important to get guys like Ott and Scott rather than add scoring. I know LA was 2nd to last in scoring, but they were also 2nd best in goals against.
