He doesn't really seem to have a good feel for what's on the team's mind, and doesn't seem to get the inside scoop for being the team's only official beat reporter. Just my opinion, but it's been a significant decline since Alan Hahn and even Greg Logan. Strang and Staple both just seemed/seem to be drifting with the tide rather than actually making waves and getting stories. |

I agree but its a business and you should never let your personal feeling get in the way of business. I want the Isles to win period and if a douchebag will help them win then I will accept that player whether I want him or not - Vukota
People have to let this go. Yes, Vis and Nabby were Richards for pulling this s**t. But, maybe if the team hadnt been run so poorly these past few years, guys wouldn't pull this s**t. You don't see this happen anywhere else, even with other losing franchises. |

Fantasy Question - Is Nino staying in the AHL? He isn't on the camp roster? I drafted him late in my keeper league and want to know if I should switch him out. He is having a great season in the A |

With the Dipetro buyout looming and Nabokov on the first bus out of town the Islanders are going to need goaltending. Bring Luongo home.

Never can tell...as of now, he's staying in the AHL, but for whatever reason, some of the more likely callups were not invited to camp, so who knows what that means. But I'd say it's more than likely he won't be on the opening night roster. |

A. They are not buying out DP... yet... if ever... ugh.
B. No one here gives a sht what Nabby does after this year.
C. We have 3 very good Goalie prospects that will be starting for this team next year. I don't see a chance in heck of anyone taking Lu and his insane contract off your hands as the cap goes down in the coming years. ... especially don't see anyone giving away someting of value for the favor. ... good luck.
D. Before you tell me how much better Lu is than any of our guys... No matter how good you think your beloved "Lu" is... Tim Thomas was better and will be free for anyone to sign at the end of the year for less money and no prospect.
Edit: also available next year in the goalie free agent market are Mike Smith and Jimmy Howard. |

Any guesses on the opening night top six on D? In camp, they'll have: Streit, Hamonic, AMac, Martinek, Carkner, Hickey, Finley, Landry...am I missing anyone? Wishart was sent back down. Don't figure Landry makes it. I think the other seven stay on the NHL roster though, since Hickey and Finley can't get sent down right away or else they can get claimed by their former teams.
Streit-Martinek
AMac-Hamonic
Hickey-Carkner
Finley
Sound about right for game 1? |

Got some quick questions for you Islander fans. Me and a couple of my buddies are coming up to see the March 22nd game against the Penguins.
How much do the beers run at the Coliseum?
Anybody ever stay at the Marriott right next door? if so can we just stumble across the street for the game, or do we have to climb some barb wired fence? lol
Also, any good pizza joints around the immediate area?
Thanks a lot guys. Looking forward to seeing the mausoleum |

There is a walkway from the hotel to the arena... don't even have to cross a street. the food in the Bar at hotel is pretty good too.. Champions. Beers are normal for NY $97.00 domestic $142.00 a bottle import. Go Isles.. Pens suk. |

You can stumble into your hotel room, no barb wire. Beers are as ridiculous as every other arena, pre game. You are on Long Island, there is a good pizzeria every other block. |

Beer is pricey not quite sure on the exact price but think around $8
The marriott is literally right next door no street you have to walk across. Just walk right over. Your best bet is just getting drunk at champions in the marriott before the game.
For pizza I recommend Grimaldi's in Garden City about a 5-10 minute ride from the coliseum |
