Ness has been good with his team moving up ice all season, but he's been surprisingly good on D tonight too. Actually, he and Streit may be playing the best of all d-men on both teams. Pretty good night for Reinhart, too. A few mistakes, but some really good decisions as well. |

you would think by now okposo would have more then 1 move when he drives the net. I figured by now he would have 4 or 5 moves that don't work  - Vukota

I would not mind seeing him get a real chance to stick. I'm not able to tell you much about Hickey. |

Wa Dp in net for the Isles? - Cptmjl
They switched halfway through the game. I guess technically the Islanders just won since they counted the shootout goals toward the game total for some reason. But BPort won the real game in regulation. |

DP is good at two things. 1. Sucking in net .2. Good at stopping breakaways |

what did we learn so far from this scrimmage:
1- Pellerin out-coached Cappy ( as espected )
2- Okoposo still stuck on 1 move & is regressing
3- Grabner still fast, but cant put puck in net (not including penalty shot)
4- DP looks confused
5 - Nabby rusty
6- Kids look great
7- etc,etc, shall i continue, |

I watched the Bport team closer than the Isles team...I guess it's force of habit...been following them so I found myself rooting for them. I thought Nino, Ness and Reinhart looked good, and some of the more recent signings like Combs and Costello.
I think going to the Swiss league during the lockout paid off for Streit and Tavares...they looked much sharper than anyone else on the Isles' squad. |

agree on no 1, thought KO looked not bad, grabner wasn't really noticable, dp looked at times okay, at times really awful (get off your ass) nabby looked like he wasn't trying very hard, strome was invisible, nelson barely better, nino looked great, nothing else outstanding. Tavares and streit looked good but JT was being a little cute and not driving the net. Defensively no one really stood out to me at all, too tough with it being a mild contact game to get a good feel for it.
Cappy didn't pull the goalie with 5 minutes left in the game down two, he'll only do that in games that count.

Agree with you, too about KO...he looked better than most. Strome though I thought did OK...some really nice passes on the PP, but yeah, not really noticeable 5-on-5. And once DP went down, he was like a fish flopping around on the ground. But he was at least in the right time zone on most of the shots. |

Gragnani has some offensive upside and is a pretty good puck mover that likes to join the rush. The problem is he aweful defensivley and seems to put him self out of position a lot. Pretty much a poor mans Marc Andre-Bergivien. - fiveandagame
