This is what I was thinking, what is the differnece of 400 miles apart, or 4000 miles apart.
What a crock of Horse dung. - bixll
Yup. There may well be a hint of truth...maybe his son is recovering from something, but it's not like he's not flying anywhere and grieving by the bedside. If it's genuinely a family health issue keeping him there, then I take it all back, but excuse me if I don't take this whiny POS at his word.
Meanwhile, there's Thomas Hickey:
Former Monarchs assistant Scott Pellerin is the head coach of the Islanders affiliate in Bridgeport and Hickey felt Pellerin had helped in the Isles' decision to take him.
"Talking to my agent, he thought there would be some interest there. At the same time, it takes some faith for a team to step up," said Hickey, who was about to begin his drive to Long Island. "When I found out the news, I was ecstatic. I owe Pelly a call on my drive out to New York. Certainly he vouched for me and I'm very thankful for that."
I'll take that attitude over Vis' any day. |

I think we are all missing the point here. Vis has to go balls to wall in order to play here this year. that is pretty hard just ask DP. |

Yeah since I am getting married next week and moving out my parents are going to need someone to stay there. I will let them know and thanks for helping out. I will leave my Penguins jersey and my Fleury pajamams there just for you |

**SPOILER ALERT**
last line: "And so Hickey is the shiny unopened toy that someone else gets to enjoy. And I look forward to following him on the Islanders." |

I hope he and Finley turn some heads at camp. If either is waived to be sent down, they'll be picked up by their former teams, and while I know neither is going to set the NHL on fire, I kind of like the idea of seeing a talented d-man who is just not getting a shot on a team stacked on D (Hickey), and a giant who likes to hit (Finley) seize the opportunity they're given. I bet hungry players like that leave it all on the ice more nights than a guy who doesn't want to be in the league, let alone on the Isles. |

to be honest I would love all of you to come. I am getting married in Colorado since she is from there. She loves the Avalanche, but I told her why route for them when you have the Islanders. she is moving to the island |

Some of us can probably break the Internet listing all the reasons
My wife's from Western NY and a big Sabres fan. It's actually kind of cool having fans of two different teams under the same roof. You end up following both teams and it broadens your perspective on every issue. It wasn't too cool during the 2007 playoff series though. I ended up retiring to my family's hunting cabin to watch the game so I wouldn't shout stuff about the Sabres in front of my wife that I'd later regret. |

Well just like other waiver pick ups this is a make or break time for them which is obviously why Snow does it. Hopefully it turns out like it did with Moulson. It'd be nice if Snow would pick up a legitimate NHL Dman and stop with these "there's a chance" they may be good acquisitions. Than if these guys do wind up becoming something it's all just gravy and Wammo! We have depth on our blue line for the first time in I can remember. |
