agreed..........i think what happened was, he tried to stay and get outta the contract. Like Nabakov he realized that he had no leg to stand on. SO to squeeze a few more weeks at home, he's using this excuse now, which quite frankly im not buying. Not when he NEVER said his son was sick.............thats the first thing you say. Yup. There may well be a hint of truth...maybe his son is recovering from something, but it's not like he's not flying anywhere and grieving by the bedside. If it's genuinely a family health issue keeping him there, then I take it all back, but excuse me if I don't take this whiny POS at his word.

so being on a bus with teammates is like someone going on the subway to work. if the kid is sick, doesnt necessarily mean LV has to be bedside throughout the day; it is conceivable the kid is sick, not life threatening, and LV wants to be within range in case something goes wrong...

having said that, if i had to decide if this is legit or an excuse....i think LV has proven he doesnt want to play for the islanders. the kid MAY BE sick, but i think LV is looking for any reason to not play here.
