Since the Smyth trade and Smyth not resigning with the Isles, i think Snow gave up on blockbuster trades. He might have gotten a huge ass whooping by Charles fat kid. - Albanian
I can pretty much guarantee it! |

My fantasy hockey draft is tonight...like last year I'm picking JT first...if he had a better team around him, he would be in the top 10... - kear20
Put him on Pittsburgh and Sidney would be trade bait!

They have the oilers at 16th And they had the first over all pick the last 20+ years...
Im more shocked the Isles aren't ranked DEAD LAST - Albanian
I think we finish ahead of NJ this year in our division. |

I really think with the short season ( hopefully no injuries) Isles will be battling for top in the Atlantic...
Rangs look great on Paper, But Gaborik will miss 3/4 of the short season @ They will go as far as Lundqvist takes them..
Pens without Crosby ( A Head hit away form retiring) arent that great..
Flyers have no Goalie..
And Devils well they are screwed when they have to pay a 3rd line player More money then Tavares.. |

Let me say it again for those of you with a Subban offer sheet hard on. They don't have a second round pick!!!! The compensation for a 5 mil offer is a first, a second and a third. They traded the second for Visnovsky. - PeteM
Compensation under 5,040,000 is a first and a third. Don't need a second round pick. Look it up pete

Could he have told anyone? He was locked out until last weekend and had no access to the team nor training officials...I think? - keaner17
kinda good point....technicalities come back to bite some in the arse....wasn't Josh's fault he wasn't allowed to speak with the team...he would have been in violation. Better not to cross the side that protects him. |

You also have to assume in this case that Subban would actually sign said offer sheet with the Isles knowing a payday could be coming from elsewhere. I'd take him, no question about it. Of course we should be willing offer just about anyone this side of a beer league. You know it's bad when you feel resigning Martinek improves our defense. - keaner17
You dont think he'd wanna come here knowing that we're moving to Brooklyn? You dont think PK Subban would put fans in the seats? I can see Jay Z now rocking his jersey...

Took the time to look it up for ya Pete....
Here are the numbers:
$1,110,249 or below - No Compensation
Over $1,110,249 to $1,682,194 - 3rd round pick
Over $1,682,194 to $3,364,391 - 2nd round pick
Over $3,364,391 to $5,046,585 - 1st round pick, 3rd
Over $5,046,585 to $6,728,781 - 1st round pick, 2nd, 3rd
Over $6,728,781 To $8,410,976 - Two 1st Round Picks, 2nd, 3rd
Over $8,410,976 - Four 1st Round Picks
Seems to me 5 million is under 5,046,585 and there is no mention of a second rounder (the one we dont have). |

Id offer $5 million/6 years and give up the picks...if we're out of it by April, trade Streit, Visnovski, Bailey, Reasoner (if he isn't cut), Boyes and anyone else who doesn't have a long tearm contract for picks... |

Problem is I can see Jay Z rocking a Rangers jersey. Do I think he'd put fans in the seats...No....defensemen don't excite fanbases in that way. As for Brooklyn...No again. I think the stadium thing is a great sell in 2015 and beyond but the here and now remains a big problem. I could be wrong, but I could see Subban fielding big offers from other teams like Philly, Carolina, Detroit, etc... |

Right, as I confirmed...he COULDN'T have told them if he wanted to. The offices were closed and team doctors are not permitted to treat the players during a lockout. |

Im with you......anyone who disagrees is crazy. Giving up a first and a third for a proven dman who plays all facets of the game well is not a lot. He and Hamonic leading the backline for years to come would be awesome. Its well within Snows rights to offer sheet him. Other GMs have done it, and there's nothing wrong with it. Im sick and tired of seeing Frans Nielson on the point on PP. Add the fact that Subban is a righty shot (streits a lefty) and now you have legit threats from the point. |
