Getting Subban could be giving the Habs Nate Mac. This is the Kessel deal all over again,potentially. If the Isles #1 pick went to the Habs and they got Nate, might not be good.

I'm sure you heard almost the same thing from Leafs fans back then, but I'll say it. If they got one good defenseman, I don't think they'd be the worst team in the league this season. I think they could even be a bubble team...mid-late teens for a finish. If Nabakov is serviceable, a defense of Streit-Subban, Vis(like him or not)-Hamonic, Martinek-AMac would be the best D the Isles have had in a long time, with every player at least competent at both ends of the ice. A D that can move the puck puts a lot less pressure on the forwards too. But I don't think Snow does anything like throw out an offer sheet. And I doubt he would part with what it would take to get him in a trade. I'm not sure what I'd part with depending on their demands either. For the sake of argument though, I think there's a relatively fine line between the shaky to bad D they have now and a respectable D that could be pretty dangerous moving the puck around.

it didn't but you said our PP will never be real with a third line center masquerading as a second line center is playing the point... I was just pointing out that our PP was the only thing NOT wrong with the team.

Stats mean nothing to me........what do they base that on? How many PPs you have versus how many goals you score? Its skewed. The stat that means the most is we didnt finish in the top 8......and all teams played 82 games.

The offer sheet idea was so that we didnt have to part with prospects. I didnt think giving up a first and a third would sting too badly, with prob 20 prospects developing in juniors, college, and over seas.

I think a Black Hockey Star Playing in Brooklyn would be a tremendous draw for the Islanders.

No different then a Frenchman Playing in Montreal.

Or Conservative NFL Fans being drawn to Tim Tebow from all over the country.

Fans pick and choose players they identify with.

They're already are lots of conservative fans to watch football. There are lots of French people who watch hockey in Montreal.so there interest in players they can identify with is born out of the fact that they are already fans. Here is the bottom line black people don't watch hockey. Bringing in a defenseman is not going to change that. Now if we were talking about it offensive player who is netting 50 goals year I might say you have an argument. But I promise you if you sign PK Subban you will still never see more than 50 to 75 black people in that stadium.

Its a no brainer i would think.. the guy is a talent, we are D poor, even with all we drafted last year, they wont be ready for some time, Subben could be the cornerstone of our D for a decade.. at the cost of 2 first rounders... hello!!!
