Can you imagine Tim and Radek on the team? Talk about injuries. - ses111
Was at the open practice today. Radek looked great. Quick, good shot, laughing the entire time. Hope he stays healthy. |

Name that stood out on the waiver list was D - Adam Pardy.
Very good puck moving defensemen. Plays very well in his own zone and holds his own on the offensive blueline. |

I'm sure Garth will claim one or two or 7. I think they need bodies at the bridge. |

I say we pick up Angelidis, Taormina., Bodnarchuk, Klinkhammer, Holzapfel, Frazee, & Zalewski just to hear Goring butcher their pronunciations
It would be priceless!!

I thought the same thing at first until I read at the time Nash was coming back to get looked at. - Vukota
Nash was locked out and prohibited by the league from getting "free" treatment from anyone on the Rangers medical/training staff.
He circumvented that by paying for his "visit". Whe you make 8 million a year you can do that.....or you have your own health insurance that would cover an "office visit"!

I definitely feel better about season knowing Nabokov who did play during lockout still looks sharp. That was one major concern I had.
Also it's simple. Ko, grabs, bailey when he returns produce we have shot at 7-8 spot for playoffs. You know what u going to get from the other guys.
That's a lot of IFs though. Lets go isles.
I really hope this Hickey kid shines this year. |

That's what I figured if he couldn't "legally" see him through the team then he would go see him as a regular joe |

Remains to be seen. Asians dont usually attend Knicks games in large numbers. But when they had that Asian Kid (sorry I dont remember his name) Was it Lin?
Didnt they come to the Garden to see him?
And what about when the Yanks signed that Japanese guy Hideki Matsui or what ever. They came out in droves to watch him. You just never know.
But you make a valid point. For the most part you see very few Black folks at Hockey games. - SCLI
You realize that baseball is arguably bigger in Japan than it is in the US these days, don't you? Hockey is the most difficult sport to sell to non-fans because it's the most geographically sensitive and most expensive. |

I think it's possible people may pay a bit more attention to a sport they wouldn't normally watch if they identify more with one of the athletes. Heck, during the Olympics I was glued to a friggen water polo match only because the Americans were in a tight game. Wouldn't have given it a moment's time if it was Germany against China, or whatever. |

Yes I agree with both your points.
I just think that a Black Hockey Star, playing in a new Building, in Brooklyn, would generate interest amongst Black Folks living near by in Brooklyn.
Even enough go get them to go to the games.
It depends on some factors. Like how well the Isles are doing. How well Subban plays and how the Isles & the NHL market both locally.
You can sell ice to an Eskimo if you market it right!
