That salary would cost the Isles a first, second and third rounder as per the compensation guidelines in last CBA. I don't know if its been changed at all in the new CBA. Thing is, that First rounder is likely a 2013 first rounder and will probably be a top ten, maybe even a top five pick. Want to give that up for Subban?

Dustin Penner is the only one to actually be let go by a team after signing an offer sheet, so getting Subban for 5 mil is at best a pipe dream IMO.

rolston was taking the hit for one year and getting rid of hunter's two year contract. also helped them make the floor and irritate every Isles fan world wide. No question Subban is worth a heck of a lot more than Rolston, but Rolston contract was hilariously bad.

I'm sure. They would never leak that out. It'd be counter productive. With that said though I would like to see Subban in an Isles sweater even though we all know it's not happening(even you Kindlyrick, ).
