That salary would cost the Isles a first, second and third rounder as per the compensation guidelines in last CBA. I don't know if its been changed at all in the new CBA. Thing is, that First rounder is likely a 2013 first rounder and will probably be a top ten, maybe even a top five pick. Want to give that up for Subban? - Jethro09
Signing him to 5 million would cost a first and a third. Yes i'd give up a top 5 pick for Subban. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.........literally in this case |

Well said.......its embaressing. Its like half this roster are draft picks.......and the other half are garbage that other teams didnt want. - kindlyrick
Yeah, he's got like 37 points in a little over 100 games in the NHL. Seems like a guy destined for a career in the "A", or on the Isles, a second line center... |

we can't do that anyway as we don't have our second rounder. Best we could offer would be 5 mil and I can't see Montreal letting him go at that price. I don't see the Isles offering more anyway. - Isles_since_6
Someone posted that they read that Montreal wouldn't go over 4 mil. All hear say of course but who knows? |

If they dumped Reasoner and put him in as the 4th center you wouldn't hear a peep out of me, 37 pts in 100 games +7. With that said you know he'll be our third line center with Nielsen being our second. We are (frank)ed and are getting more (frank)ed as this plays out - Cptmjl
Is Richard Park still available? Lets bring him back.......Jon Sim? Garth probably tried calling Rob Shremp but the time difference was 10 hours. |

Subban want a longer term... probably 5 million. |

that was speculation based on a radio station, nothing from the Habs
Dustin Penner is the only one to actually be let go by a team after signing an offer sheet, so getting Subban for 5 mil is at best a pipe dream IMO.
**also reports were that Subban was looking for 6 mil per year over at least 5 years. Unconfirmed of course, but way over what would be reasonable |

This kid is worth a 5 year deal........i mean c'mon. They brought in a 5 million dollar guy last year in Rolston. Are you telling me he was worth that kinda money???? Who's in charge here.........this Subban kid would be the perfect pick up.

If he went there I'd be shocked. I think we've seen enough of Snow's regime to know exactly where Acoin will be playing this year. |

rolston was taking the hit for one year and getting rid of hunter's two year contract. also helped them make the floor and irritate every Isles fan world wide. No question Subban is worth a heck of a lot more than Rolston, but Rolston contract was hilariously bad. |

Strome could probably play 5 games... but maybe they want to get the lines set, and keep them playing together.
Strome and Reinhart will be full time next year!!! |

He's looking for Drew Doughty money...........but the fact is, the isles should make an offer. Whether or not the Habs match it is a different story. Draft picks and Waiver wire pick do not make a playoff team. SIGN THIS PHUCKING KID. He's a star in the making...

I'm sure. They would never leak that out. It'd be counter productive. With that said though I would like to see Subban in an Isles sweater even though we all know it's not happening(even you Kindlyrick, ). This is going to be more of the same, another excuse ridden BS of a season. I'll probably have to purchase another remote do to me exploding one after launching it into a wall. I did that after Wang's address to the fanbase last year. "Isn't it fun watching the kids" "of course I'm staying with Capuano and Snow, Jack will most defintiely be with us next year". Bam! |
