Who is going to be the first Flyers player scapegoated this Season? I'm not sure which one it will be, But I bet it's a defenseman, or a Goalie! - MJL
There's too many options. I say Bryz but it could be Leighton. Without Carle I have no idea who we'll blame on D.

Safe bet . As a secondary candidate, the first top-nine forward to go more than, say, three straight games without a point early in the season.

Luke Schenn is experienced in sponging up the vitriol, though I could see people getting down on Meszaros when he isn't immediately in prime form. |

Obviously, a game against the Pens is a great way to start the Season off. But there are so many things that are exciting to see what happens, just with the Flyers. The addition of Luke Schenn. The continued development of Coturier and B Schenn. Getting a look at Laughton. Seeing if Giroux continues to cement his place at the top of the NHL hierarchy. How Bryzgalov plays this Season. A lot of story lines. And I'm sure that the beat writers, bloggers, and columnists have a ton of stuff, that they want to write about. It's going to be great fun. And I remember the last 48 game Season. It was great Hockey. |

One thing I am excited to see is how much progress Brayden will make. If he stays healthy and gains confidence, I can really see him going off while playing on the top line. |

Kid is in a great spot, playing with Giroux. He's a strong forechecker and physical. And due to his time in the AHL, he should have his legs under him. I wouldn't be surprised if he was one of the best players on the ice today.

it was a terrific hockey last time they played the short season. having games almost every other nite could eliminate the fans tendency to dwell on BS and just take it all in. i'm rooting for L schenn to look more like adam foote than he has so far...would love to eat crow on that one, but my argument there is about perceived value, not the plyr per se.

I just ask one thing. Let the kid play and see what happens. There will be plenty of time to judge the player and the trade down the line.

JJ can't wait to announce his first hartnell down today. I'm thinking he will bring out all the heavy hitters including "left handed larceny" and "they SAY its offside" |

I think it's going to be energetic but sloppy hockey. I think it's going to be trading scoring chances left and right.

Only if you tell Hartnell he's supposed to eat before and/or after the game, not during.
Good luck folks, it's been a long time coming. |
