well after 2 games it is clear that the flyer PK sucks 5 goals in 2 games allowed is disgusting....Bryz needs to pick up his game although yesterday's goals were not really his fault 3 out of 4 tonight were poor poor goal tending... and is any one other than Giroux gonna show up offensively sure Couts got a goal but the rest of the team needs to start hitting the net with their shots too many are going wide and not hitting the Mark....... |

Schenn made a couple mistakes... overall I think he played well though. His outlet passes were strong and I thought he was frequently in the right spot. He deflected a few passes with his stick on the ice and cleared the puck well today. What I would like to see is more of those 270 hits he had last season.... haven't seen that in the last 2 games. Still - I prefer Schenn over JVR... maybe I'll end up eating those words, maybe not. - moylander
I don't think it's time for panic. This is basically exhibition games but they count and we need to find a way to get some points in the next two games. If we come out with zero in 4 games, this is not good.. |

We're looking for a scapegoat to take Carle's place. You're not making this any easier.
I'd say straight up, one for one, no. - 77rams
So if I understand you correctly, you think the Flyers made the deal because Schenn is a RH defenseman? And they wouldn't have if he was LH?

Wow..I completely disagree about Bryz. Goal 1 was a slapshot from the low slot, goal 2 was a break away, goal 3 went off timo's leg on a pp shot deflected and goal 4 was basically kicked in... |

3 out of 4 tonight were poor poor goal tending... - flyer186
Huh what?
If you eliminate the empty net goal leaving the final 4:
1. 1 goal was off a deflection, not sure what he could have done there.
2. Vanek made a great move on a breakway caused by a horrible line change.
3. Maybe you can make the case that after Bryz made the first save he should have covered the rebound..maybe... or the forward back should have cleared it...
4. 1 goal was off a rocket from the slot. |

None of the goals today were from poor goaltending. A breakaway. A shot from the dead slot on the PP. A deflected point shot. And a rebound goal after Bryzgalov got no help on another breakaway, after he made a strong save.

Bryzgalov tried to clear the rebound by trying to swipe it out with his stick. The puck was bouncing and it bounced right over his stick. Hodgson beat the Flyers to the net. Not only the initial breakdown, but no help on the back check either. Hard to fault Bryzgalov on any of them.

Legal goal but stopped and went off his foot. Of note, both waived off goals were legal as well.. the ref jsut made the wrong calls. |

I can't say the wrong call was made on the 2nd waived off goal.

You can't blame Bryz for that loss.. He played exceptionally well IMO. |

The puck wasn't covered.. ref was not in position to see it and should not have blown the whistle. |

Not straight up for JVR, no.
I have nothing but my gut feeling to back me on this - the Flyers were desperate for a right handed shot on the backend. |

Bryz made a ton of saves that last year would have been head-shaking goals. I thought he looked good out there.... like a real goaltender. |

The Flyers have played without a RH shot for years. I think it's nice to have, but not a necessity. I think they made the deal because they like Schenn, not because he was RH.

A ref can't be in position to see the puck in every situation. And he should have blown the whistle because he lost sight of the puck. That's the rule. It's a bad break, but that's the way it is. These things even out over the course of a Season. |

It looked like he pushed Bryz too so that maybe should not of counted. Buffalo got lucky calls left and right, but good teams find a way to overcome bad calls. Plus Philly just played Saturday. So Buffalo had that going for them too |

In the case of that particular ref, he is often out of position on plays like that quick whistle. |

I don't think he was out of position on that play. Things happen quick out there. Even if he was behind the net, I don't think he would of seen it.

Refs should blow the play dead as soon as he loses sight of the puck. I have no problem with that. However, I don't tolerate poor positioning at that level. That's what occurred there.
If DvM was behind the net with the best view possible and blew the whistle, I have no gripe. |

If it's Miller, Sabres fan are all over him. Byrz is playing good. 3 goals in 2 game won't win you any games in the Flyers system. |

What are your thoughts on the first called off goal by fedotenko? I think Miller flopped a bit. Should have counted. |
