jesus. I went into subway with tampa down 4-1 and came out of subway to find it was 4-3. This has become a chronic problem.

A very good effort in spite of a putrid couple of minutes in the third period. Especially in a day game, which they usually suck at.

Only we can have a 2-man advantage and still make it interesting.

That was a horrible little stretch they had...no coverage at all. At least this time they were able to snap out of it. They actually got back to playing reasonably well after the Lightning's third goal...normally they would have been pinned in their own zone for the balance of the game.

so being stuck at work I've seen no highlights, how did they look overall? I liked hearing casey made it into the lineup but still disturbed that he's on the fourth line behind aucoin.

That's a good thing. If you aren't having a heart attack in the last 10 minutes of an Islanders game, then chances are they're not winning. They never make it easy.

They controlled play for most of the game other than that stretch in the third. Just plain outworked Tampa Bay. If not for some good saves by Lindback and some Islanders spazzing out in front of the net, they could have popped even a few more in there.

Ullstrom's skating...with some room out there today, I think you were really able to see it. For a player with size and strength, he can move. And I'm liking my pick so far of Grabner being the most likely to have a bounce-back year.

Just got back from a long ass drive back home from the game (Cant wait till the move to Brooklyn about 10 minute drive from home) Good things happen to this team when they are not playing vs a trap system team..

Tavares as usual looked like the beast he is. They need to find someone else to play on his line Okposo just wont cut it. Hopefully crappy places Baily on his line once he gets back and shoves Okposo on the 3rd line where he belongs..

For 2 periods they looked like world beaters. Its not easy shutting down a sick offence like tampas for 2 periods and make them look like a junior squad..

That's the positive . After cappy called timeout, they snapped out of it and looked like the team that played the rest of the game. Lots of very good things today. Look very cohesive as a group. Bailey and visnovsky added to this lineup can only help.

Btw, ullstrom looks like he took a step forward. Two very nice games from him.

Tought he carried the play well today. Faked lindback out of his jock in the 3rd. Didn't finish but thought he was much better today.
